I haven’t had this really long yet, so I am hoping the battery will last for a long time. I find I have sufficient time to vacuum where I need to and I like the weight of this vacuum, it is easy to maneuver and great for tight corners

Best Cordless Vac EVER!!!

I have owned Dyson vacs since they came out with them. I have been holding off buying their handheld for years now and I am glad I did because the V8 model is well worth the money to say the least. I bought this for my wife for Xmas 2017, however I use it waaaay more because the ease of use. We have two labs that shed relentlessl, and a cat, so cleaning up hair on all of the tile floors downstairs and the carpet going up the stairs has always been a challenge until now. I bought it yesterday, and was able to vac downstairs and up the stairs in 10 minutes compared to using my upright vac that is so heavy to try cleaning the stairs, not anymore. I freaking love this thing.

So far it has been great to use. I had the DC16 for a while now and that this has worked great. Now with the fuzzy roller it makes cleaning up after the cats litter box super easy! Now I can also vacuum the stairs without having to roll out my large vacuum and trying to balance that thing on the stairs and dealing with the cord. I just makes a lot of task so much more convenient. I also love the new bin ejection system I used to have to fish out pet hair and other random things that got stuck. Now I can just dump and go.

Best Money I have spent!

In the past, I was hesitant to spend this amount of money on a portable vacuum sweeper. After the second less-expensive device wore out, I decided to "go for broke" and spend the money. I am thrilled with the quality of the device, the ease of its use, and the portability of it. My car and truck have much cleaner floor mats and carpeting. It is NOT intended to vacuum the entire house; I have a corded unit with which that task is done. The ease of vacuuming the stairs is also a huge plus! Yes...I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering its purchase!

This is my second tango with Dyson vacuum cleaners... by the way I am still using my older Dyson and it works great but so I could get into more intricate spots plus the flexibility and functionality of wireless devices I bought a V8 Animal and I could not be any happier... great vacuum cleaners ! Light, dependable and strong !

Frustrating experience

I received my Dyson a month ago and was so excited. Unfortunately I had trouble from the very beginning. The battery had to be replaced. Then when I pulled back the trigger still nothing would happen. The latch wouldn’t open the container for when it would be ready to empty. I had high hopes and never got to use it. Very disappointed. I think I just got a dud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought Dyson V8 a few weeks ago and the setup was easy. Just missed setting to regular vacuum instead it was on hyper and it only ran about 15 minutes. After changing the switch setting, it ran for a much longer cycle. Vacuum very well on carpet and is very easy to clean out the container on the unit. It met its requirements. Satisfied with the purchase but wish it had a longer running battery.
