I love my Dyson v8 absolute. I has excellent suction. Was amazed at all the dust it collected even though I thought it was clean. Truly amazed and so easy to use. Very happy with my purchase.

Great tool but shot battery life

We like the convenience of our Dyson V8, but the battery life is extremely short and very disappointing.

Hi Tommy, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're happy to hear that thus far in your use, you have found the V8 Absolute to be so easy and convenient to use around your home. With regard to the battery life, you do have two suction modes of power to your machine - regular and MAX. Most people will find that regular suction provides enough power for everyday household cleaning, and that generally speaking, MAX can be reserved for more stubborn messes or even larger debris.
In MAX mode, suction is boosted, which will result in much less run time on a full charge - about 7 minutes. With regular suction mode, you can expect 30-40 minutes of run time, depending if a motorized tool is being used. We're keen to learn more about your experience to provide support. It has good suction, but cut take air out of a space bag. the bottom drop down base, has broken, yet again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our V8 models provide two powerful modes of suction power - regular and MAX, and up to 40 minutes of run time to tackle any cleaning task in your home. It's unusual to hear that you've had a piece break more than once. Dyson cord-free machines are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. Cordless with plenty of power

I have a central vacuum system in my house which is awesome; but the hose is to cumbersome for me anymore. So far the Dyson has been a God send.
