Great & easy to use

Once I figured out how to open the container & dump it, have enjoyed it. The larger Dyson’s are too heavy for me to push

The best vacuum I have ever had!

So easy to use. Very light weight and amazing not to have a car following you around. The only thing I wish it had that it does not seem to have is a foot release from the carpet attachment so when I want to release it I don't have to use my hands. That's the absolute only suggestion I could make. I truly love this vacuum cleaner!

Terrible battery life

We bought this vacuum and fully charged the unit. Great power and suction, however the battery only lasted 5 minutes. For the price payed, we expected more than 5 minutes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dyson V8™ machines have been engineered with a run time of up to 40 minutes on a full charge. This can vary, however, based on the suction mode being used. That said, Dyson cordless machines will also operate with a run-time enhancing light touch trigger, which helps ensure power is only used when you want to be cleaning. All of our cordless units will come switched on to the MAX suction mode out of the box. This setting is designed with tough cleaning jobs in mind. To ensure you're able to receive the full run time your machine can provide, we'd recommend switching the suction control slider off of the MAX suction mode. We're keen to go over your machine with you, and help ensure that you're able to get the best from your Dyson V8™ cordless vacuum. My new favorite

I have an older cordless and a dyson DC23 canister vac, the V8 absolute is my favorite. It is much more quiet than the other two and the attachments are very handy. I'm not really a fan of the way to empty the debris, but will probably get used to it.

My 80 yr old mom tried out my V8 Animal and fell in love. It’s easy for her to maneuver, no tripping. She loves seeing how much dirt is being picked up. Very powerful.
The only thing I would add: sometimes friends stay in our cabin and use the vac. I’m a bit concerned that the “empty pull and close process” isn’t intuitive enough. They can easily break it if they attempt to open and close it the wrong way or in the wrong order. So far it hasn’t happened.
