Great performance

I bought this vacuum a couple of weeks ago and the first time I used it I was amazed at how much dirt came out of my carpet. I have used it on my hard floors as well and have been very pleased with its performance there.

I bought the Dyson V8 a week ago. I have used it on wood floors and carpet. It has a very powerful battery operated motor. The suction is very good and the tool selection is great. The only draw back to the machine is the amount of time the battery lasts. I think as I get more aquatinted it will easier to use it more efficiently.

A dream of a vacuum

This is my first ever Dyson and I love it! It's light weight, stores easily, fits under furniture well, and of course, the suction is fantastic. It does wonders across hard surface flooring as well as carpets of different shag lengths.
The only items I wish were improved are the comfort of the grip area (not awful by any means, but could be enhanced) and the ability to access the charging port when the vacuum is on its wall mount (seems like a miss to not be able to charge it while it's hung up).
Even despite those two things, however, I would still highly recommend this vacuum!
