I bought this Dyson because I needed a cordless machine that was lightweight and easy for me to maneuver. This fills that need, has great suction and plenty of attachments!

Light, Cordless and Convenient

I realized immediately that I'll use this Dyson Absolute V8 more frequently than my bagged or bagless machines (which I'll get rid of now!). The light weight with no cord is such a big deal, combined with a wall-mount that charges the unit but it's ready to use anytime. This has proven to be true, using it more frequently, that is.
The quality of the tools, and the way the tools attach and detach is solid and satisfying. I see what the fuss is about. Very Happy.
Note: When emptying the collection area, I notice that if I lift the red handle and close it again a few times in a row, I see more fine dust get bounced away and out of the machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased my first Dyson, Animal, in 2004. I still use that machine, but I am aging faster than it. When I saw the Dyson Cordless I couldn't wait to buy it.
The Cordless is so light and easy to use. I have cats and a dog, not to mention grown children, and the power of this V8 Absolute cleans my whole house well before it runs low. The suction on min is all I need.
I also have an older friend who doesn't like the noise of his current vacuum. We ordered a V6 for him and he is thrilled at the lower noise level.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Dyson for my dog

We love this vacuum. We have a collie and he sheds profusely. His hair does not get all tangled in the roller which I love. I have an old dyson and have to continually cut the hair out of the roller. That one was not for pets but we absolutely love this one and the longer run time. Great job Dyson!!!

Great product except....

When using the machine, i developed a raw spot at my thumb joint from rubbing against the plastic where the blue filter joins the unit. I do have small hands, so maybe that is the issue, but will now have to vacuum with gloves on to keep from losing more skin!! Dyson engineers....how about some sort of wide, soft rubber "band" to cover the joint between these two hard plastic pieces. Suction is good, battery life what i expected. A wider hard surface attachment would be nice.

It’s beautifully designed. However I am not impressed by it’s suction power which It’s the same as my classic cord vacuum cleaner. Probably it stands out from other cordless vacuum cleaners - never had one of those myself before.
Also the accessories are very confusing. Seems to me that in the end all do the same thing, only you have a lot of stuff. The brush for hard floors is very sensitive to humid dirt, like pieces of fruit. You need to get those by hand if you don’t want the fruit smudged all over your floor.
