Despite the high price, I sprung for this vacuum because it is cordless, it fits under the bed & cabinets, etc. It has a bare floor attachment, a carpet one, and it can be made short to do stairs & the car, etc. So far, I love it!

It really sucks!

This Vacuum is amazing! It literally will suck the rug up off the floor if you put it on max suck. I have a 110 lb dog and a cat who both shed. With other vacuums, it took vacuuming the couch for an hour and then lint rolling it a couple of times a week to keep the hair away. Now I Vacuum the couch for 5 minutes and it takes care of all of it!

I bought this Dyson because I needed a cordless machine that was lightweight and easy for me to maneuver. This fills that need, has great suction and plenty of attachments!

Light, Cordless and Convenient

I realized immediately that I'll use this Dyson Absolute V8 more frequently than my bagged or bagless machines (which I'll get rid of now!). The light weight with no cord is such a big deal, combined with a wall-mount that charges the unit but it's ready to use anytime. This has proven to be true, using it more frequently, that is.
The quality of the tools, and the way the tools attach and detach is solid and satisfying. I see what the fuss is about. Very Happy.
Note: When emptying the collection area, I notice that if I lift the red handle and close it again a few times in a row, I see more fine dust get bounced away and out of the machine.

I purchased my first Dyson, Animal, in 2004. I still use that machine, but I am aging faster than it. When I saw the Dyson Cordless I couldn't wait to buy it.
The Cordless is so light and easy to use. I have cats and a dog, not to mention grown children, and the power of this V8 Absolute cleans my whole house well before it runs low. The suction on min is all I need.
I also have an older friend who doesn't like the noise of his current vacuum. We ordered a V6 for him and he is thrilled at the lower noise level.
I would recommend this to a friend!
