Changed the way I clean

I have a heavy vacuum with a self- drive motor and a central vacuum with hoses and tools on both floors of my home. All are a pain to take out and use because of weight, having to change the power connections and dragging a cord or long hose behind you. Because of this I vacuumed infrequently in the past.
The Dyson is right there on the wall and needs no connection to anything and is light and easy to use so I use it daily. It seems to do as good a job as the other Vacs; my complaint is that the collection bin doesn't hold enough dirt but it sure is easy to clean out! My only other gripe is that there is no way to carry tools on the vac and not all the tools can be stored on the wall station. I have a dog and a cat and this vac gets their fur!!
Expensive e but a great purchase.

Good but not awesome as i was expecting

I don't vacuum. Spouse does that. Our place is under 1000 square feet (1bed/1bath). He's had issues with the battery/charge life - advertisements says up to 40 minutes. If he gets 15 minutes he's happy. Today I tried the Dyson. I was so worried that the charge would run out before I finished it was nerve wracking. And a few more minutes holding the trigger is would have developed a blister. We are keeping it, but not over the moon as I thought he/we would be. I have a Dyson hairdryer and it's awesome. I thought this would be the same experience
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn that so early on in your use, you've had battery and run-time issues with your Dyson V8 Absolute. This is unusual to hear. Your machine offers two suction modes,MAX and regular. MAX suction provides a generous boost of suction for larger debris, or more stubborn messes. In this mode, run time will be about 7 minutes, so it's not a mode we'd recommend using for everyday vacuuming. In regular suction mode, run times will be up to 30-40 minutes, depending on whether you're using one of your motorized floor tools.
We would certainly not expect a blister to occur as a result of using your Dyson product. If you are finding this to be your experience, we would recommend holding the unit lower down the handle to prevent rubbing or pressure on the top of your hand. Please also keep in mind that Dyson cordless vacuums will feature a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate.
While we don't ever expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 2-year guarantee. Not meant only for floors, this is an all-round Magic cleaning wand!
In addition to unfailing, powerful suction, the 40 battery run-time allows me to clean to my heart's content. A little shift in operational paradigms and now I will not return to using an upright. Cordless, hassle-free, docks nicely in its wall charging plate for nice, small-space storage.
'Doing the vacuuming' has gone from tethered uprights to these powerful Dyson V8 complete HEPA filtered machines, making cleaning & the home healthier. The fluffy head attachment is great for hard floors, picking up large debris as well as fine dust. The transparent canister makes the cleaning exercise quite spectacular, edifying and fun!
