Love this vacuum.

I have a central vacuum in my home which is the best vacuum I’ve ever had. Having said that I’ve been looking for a small light vacuum for quick cleanups when I don’t want to haul out the long hose. I’ve tried several: Dust devil, shark, etc. None ever came close to my central vac in their ability to clean my floors and carpets. But this Dyson V8 is great. Does a great job. Rivals my central vacuum when it’s in high suction mode. Perfect fir the quick cleanup and very convenient to use. Perfect for a smaller apartment.

Great for daily cleaning.

I seldom do reviews but this one deserves attention for creative engineering and thoughtful construction. After 15 months I feel compelled to write. The Dyson configuration being light and cordless allows easy coverage compared to other vacuums. We run a AirBnB with two bedrooms in our home. Wall to wall carpet in bedrooms, hall, and stairway need daily attention. We have a lot of furniture and obstacles for the floor space. The mobility and agility of the Dyson is fantastic.
For comparison, I also have a good canister vacuum that does a thorough job with a very good motorized carpet head and HEPA filtration. But I find that juggling the cord and hoses and maneuvering around and under furniture to be frustrating. The Dyson V8 makes the prospect more effective and more fun. As a result the house is cleaner than ever and more peaceful.
The concerns I had before purchasing the Dyson have proven to not be a problem. They were: Power & effectiveness esp. on carpets. (We also have cats in our part of the house). I found the carpet cleaning comparable to the canister vac as far as I could tell.
Battery life more than adequate for every day cleaning. The only time I ran out, the Max switch was accidentally flipped on.
Durability (breakage of plastic parts and battery). In 15 months of moderately heavy and not always careful use nothing has broken and the battery is fine. The light weight makes the plastic construction a good choice.
The Dyson V8 Absolute exceeded my expectations in every regard. The light weitht and maneuverability (and no cord) are a joy compared to my old canister vacuum.
Would recommend for anyone.

I just bought this machine a few days ago and found it very easy to use. I am surprised by the power. It worked well for my wood and ceramic floors. I haven't tried the carpeting yet. It also worked great for my car interior. I have a feeling I will be using my larger corded vacuum cleaner less often and will just grab this one. Thanks Dyson you did it again!.
