I like the freedom of the V8 mobility; however, 40 minutes is not enough. Maybe a power hybrid is a future feature.

Worth the wait

I finally decided to buy this Dyson vacuum after mulling it over for years and was so excited to finally try it out. The assembly was a breeze and switching out parts was easier than I expected. I love how you can see how much dirt and dust you collect in the discard bin and emptying that is also no hassle and mess free. The vacuum was slightly heavier than I anticipated and holding down the trigger for extended periods of time does cause my hand to cramp slightly, which is why I'm giving this 4/5 stars.

Strong, light, high quality

This is a replacement for a previous model that was several years old. I like it a lot, works well, not heavy. The clip to attach the accessories has been modified from the previous model I had and I find this one easier to do - I can do it with one hand where the previous one I had to use both hands. Recommend.
My only suggestion - this comes with quite a few accessories. Only two will fit on the wall mounted charger. A (very nice) bag is provided for the others. Personally I don't like using a bag, so my husband 3d printed clips so that we can mount the other items in the closet using the same clip mechanism that attaches the accessories to the vacuum. If Dyson offered a rack that would allow all the accessories to hang, I would have bought it. I realize that would be large and not every one has space for that.

Battery dies after 3 minutes only 2 years old

We loved this vacuum at first, used it daily. But now it only gets about 3-5 minutes of run time before the battery dies. Save your money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 comes with two suction modes: powerful suction mode and max mode. Powerful suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks and provides up to 40 minutes. The max mode is created to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes, and provides a total 8 minutes of run time alone.
To keep the machine running at the optimal level, routine maintenance is required. However, the maintenance is quite simple and outlined in the user manual. We also have videos that give a visual guide on our Dyson Support page.

Great product!!

We recently bought the V8 yellow. I love the 2 levels for suction and multiple attachment features. I also like the canister, as you can see the dust, hair and dirt that has collected. I was surprised to find that it reached under beds for those hard to get places!! We definitely needed this new vacuum. I recommend this product strongly.

I bought my V8 the day after Christmas and love it! It is so convenient and my floors look great after vacuuming! Even have my son vacuuming for me -- without asking!

Have only had my cordless for a week, but a nice improvement over my 20 year old canister vacuum. Lightweight and maneuverable. Excellent suction and easy to use attachments. Disposal of the "remains of the day" is quick, and doesn't make for an additional mess or product purchase, a bonus. My second try with a cordless unit and my first experience with a Dyson product. I gave away the first vacuum as it was a total disappointment. This Dyson is a different story. Such a treat to have freedom of movement and no worry of tripping over or dragging anything along....total focus for the job at hand. Makes my life easier and this kind of work less a dreaded chore.
