We bought this a few days ago last night got to try it out very impressed how long the battery life was , I used the power heads and did basement stairs..livingroom and diningroom hardwood floors and the bathrooms, as well as carpeted stairs going to 2nd floor and three bedrooms upstairs before the battery died, very impressed..i did a lot of research before buying the V8 Absolute and was worried about battery life but now I am not

Love this Dyson V8

This Dyson V8 rechargeable stick replaces another Dyson stick that I've had for years, so I can use the older one that still works great in an RV we just bought. This V8 is amazing. It's a workhorse. It vacuumed all the pet hair from a wool rug without even putting it on a stronger setting. It is so easy to empty and clean. I'm looking forward to using the V8 in my home!

Dyson Stick Vacuums

I have had 5 Dyson Stick Vacuums since they were being made! They all last about a year or less. I love the technology, however too many things go wrong with the stick vacuum especially the battery. The stick vacuum cleaners are made of cheap plastic. The stick vacuums are very pricy - not worth the price I paid for each one. Parts for the stick vacuums need to be genuine Dyson or the parts don't work well or work at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've only found that in your experience, the Dyson cord-free machines only last you about a year. That's certainly unusual to hear. We also wouldn't expect to hear that our machines feel cheaply constructed, or flimsy. I’m happy to inform you that Dyson cord-free machines are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. With regard to the battery, as with all battery-operated devices (mobile phones, laptops, tools, etc.), the overall life span of the battery can vary depending on each individual's use. Having said that, we would expect the battery life to far outlast the free two-year warranty that's provided with your machine when it's purchased brand new and from an authorized retailer. This is my third cordless vacuum cleaner and I still have my original upright ball one. I use it as I have wall to wall carpeting and a long haired cat. Would definitely recommend it.

V8 Absolute

V8 Absolute works great. Only negative is the head is bigger & heavier than described. Hence, doesn't fit under most furniture and items in the house. Otherwise great vac.

We were sorry to hear that you've found the floor tool to be heavier and larger than expected. While the head may not fit under every surface, you can always attach tools either directly to the bin, or the end of the wand to have some extended reach, should you find that you're not able to reach down low, under objects or high reach places.

Step up!

We had the original dyson for years. Happy with its performance but this model is worth the step up in price. Very happy with performance (run time, improved emptying and cleaning access, attachments) and quality of engineering. Thanks dyson!

I've had this for about a week now and I am so sorry I didn't buy it a long time ago. Its light, compact, easy to use and does a great job, has plenty of suction, and no cord.

Handy & Powerful!

Haven't had it very long, but it is a great vacuum for touch up @ the door and a quick touch up throughout the house. Manuevers GREAT around tables, chairs and any small space. Haven't had it run out of "juice" on me yet! Can't wait to use it in my vehicle and try the attachment on my blinds. So far so good! I'm impressed!!!
