After years with one of the original Dyson rechargeable vacuums, I started with my second but this time with the V8. Luckily I didn’t have to change my charging setup too much to reset with the new one. The vacuum placed on max suction actually make more difficult to use on my carpet. So I use that setting on tile and select and large throw rugs. The longer lasting setting actually is all I need. I like the way the filter and dump system works.... Much more efficient than my first Dyson. Also.... I find the rechargeable much more practical than the chorded Dyson (Ball variety) so it’s my go to vacuum!

My favorite vacuum ever

I’ll never buy another vacuum ever again because this one has my heart! It grabs every bit of pet hair and cat litter, couldn’t ask for anything better!

Great vacuum

I love the V8 vacuum. It cleans floors and gathers all the dust. I have never had such a clean experience and a great feel that my floors were so clean. I would recommend this unit for anyone that wants to go cordless and feel that their floors are clean and dust free.

Like the lightweight of this vac, but the battery on Max does not last long.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Dave, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're happy to hear that you've found the V8 Absolute to be so light weight and convenient to use around your home. Your machine offers two suction modes - regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine is going to be set to MAX. This mode provides a boost of suction making it ideal for larger messes or more stubborn debris. This mode does give less run time - about 7 minutes or so. Regular power, which should be sufficient for everyday cleaning, will give you up to 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using the motorized floor tool.

Great little machine!

It's light weight, and it's wonderful to not have a cord. The attachments make it easy to clean anything, anywhere. And it has excellent suction. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner, instead of struggling with a variety of traditional vacuum cleaners.

I had purchased a Jaschen vacuum and sent it back because everything it picked dropped out when hung up! The Dyson picks up really nice and has good power! Love it!

Really handy to have!

I have off-white tile throughout the house (not my idea but that is what I have). The place really looks great when the floors are clean but unfortunately, every little spec shows up as if it has its own spotlight! With this Dyson V8, I can quickly and easily clean up the floors! My wife has allergies and using a broom seems to spread dust and pollen which causes her problems. With the Dyson, everything is picked up and the HEPA filter traps it all so my wife is no longer having the severe reaction she would have after the floors were swept. For my situation, the Dyson V8 is perfect!
