I loved concept of the broom vacuum but I believe it needs tweaking. Maybe it just takes getting use to? Perhaps if the bristles of the broom were longer and not so stiff it would be easier to use? I find that you have to sweep everything in a line then place the broom on top to get it to suck up the debris. It usually takes me a couple of passes to get dirt up. It doesn't work well if you angle it like you would a broom to get under things or near the edge - like under my kitchen cabinets. The suction seems too far from the floor in the current design, so just lengthening the bristles may not work. Having the motor so close to the ground also makes it difficult to get under cabinets or furniture. It is easy to empty, but when I took it apart to clean the small foam filter, I became very frustrated trying to get it back together. It wasn't saving me time, but costing me time...I was going to donate it, but my housekeeper uses it occasionally. I prefer using my power pet swerve to this. It's faster and picks up much better on hard surfaces than the broom vacuum and so much easier to clean! I do like that the broom has a tall handle and has a loop for hanging in the utility closet. It is little heavy and bulky with the motor at the bottom which takes getting used to. I find having to bend over activate the power switch annoying. I do like the ease of charging and the 6 foot length of the cord. It is also rather noisy. Until the design is tweaked, I would not recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic Once You Get the Hang of It

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will be honest and say I did not like this item at first, but that's because I didn't really understand how to use it. If you are expecting a vacuum, this is not it. This basically is a broom that eliminates the need for a dustpan. You simply flip it over, sweep everything into a pile, and then turn it on and flip it to use the suction. It is wonderful! This is the best item to have around the kitchen for messes. I have ducks outside so a lot of grass gets tracked in from shoes. This takes care of that beautifully! I am very pleased with this item and definitely would recommend it to anyone who needs a quick, easy solution for every day messes without having to bend over and use a dustpan!

I received this Broom Vac from Dirt Devil to test. First of all, it was easy to assemble. There were only a few pieces that assembled quickly. No hardware or tools were required. The unit did a wonderful job on my hardwood floors. The suction on this Broom Vac removed the normal dust and dirt. The battery held a charge long enough to complete all the floors in my home. I was pleased with this!

At first, I used the same motion as a vacuum, but quickly realized you are meant to move it towards you like a broom. Once I figured this out it worked like a charm! I love it!
