Very easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switched to this after the manual stapler became too hard to use because of problems with my hand and wrist. Helped a lot with the insulation installation in my garage. Recommend it highly.

Couldn't get into corners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stapler seemed to be of good quality. It worked smoothly, wasn't loud, all the things you may want. The fault I had with it is that it couldn't reach tightly into a corner. The surface where the staple is dispensed doesn't have a nose. Since the staple comes out behind the safety mechanism, it doesn't allow you to put a staple directly into a corner. I was tried to use it to install a carpet runner on stairs and needed to get the staples under the stair nose so they didn't show.
I returned it and purchased a PT50 which is a pneumatic stapler that allowed me to do what I needed.
Pros: Flooring

You're right that this tool has a contact safety, located about 0.5 centimeters or 0.2 inches from the tip of the tool, that must be fully depressed before the tool will fire. The staple exit point is about 0.2 centimeters or 0.08 inches behind the contact safety.
This means it may at times be more challenging to engage the safety and fire the tool, like with the project you mentioned. Even so, sometimes this can be resolved by turning the tool around or the material so that the staple is very close to the edge but the safety interlock is sufficiently depressed on the surface.

good for chair reupholstery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] helpful in recovering dining room chairs. Much easier than using a hand stapler. I like the longer cord, no need for extension cord. Also like the compact size. Wish it came with a case like my other tools, as it would make it easier to store and keep it safer.

Used on restaurant seating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the manual type stapler for sometime now and because of my hands getting weaker, I decided to go electric. I purchased the T50ACD it was a time saver and with the light pull of a trigger it sinks the staples deep and even. I am going to buy a DC version next.
