[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace an old Arrow solenoid-type electric staple gun. I lost the rear part that holds in the staples. That often came loose before. At least that can't happen with this gun since the rear is not removable. One complaint, and one reason I didn't give this 5 stars is it can only take 1/2" staples. My old gun could take 9/16" and I almost always used them. I thought the 9/16" would at least fit into this gun but not always go into the wood all the way. They don't fit. Well, what's the cost of a box of 9/16" staples when you have to buy a new gun? Another complaint is the long 2 prong cord. Many people may see this as a plus, but it means having to lift the gun way up high to drag the plug and extension cord end over the edge of the roof. I had to tie the cord and extension cord together to make sure they didn't get unplugged. My old gun had a short grounded cord, and I don't think it ever got disconnected. Safety freaks will love this gun, and people like me who aren't safety freaks won't be hindered unless they want to fire off staples at each other. It has to be pressed firmly onto a surface in order to fire. My old gun went off numerous times when I squeezed the trigger by accident. The motor mechanism seems to work fine using an over 100 foot 16 gauge extension cord, but so did the solenoid of my old gun. I got the impression from the ad that this gun would work better than a solenoid on long extension cords. Yet in the instructions it talks about using 14 gauge extension cords. How many people have 14 gauge extension cords? I do but I didn't feel like bothering with them. Just one more complaint: Loading staples into the bottom is counter-intuitive to me and all those other people used to loading staples into the rear. Yes, I read the instructions but somehow I didn't understand that part and tried to load them into the rear. It didn't close, of course, and I thought the gun was defective till I turned it upside-down and noticed the place on the bottom where they're supposed to go. Overall, I like this gun, and I think Arrow made a great leap forward with it.
Pros: putting tar paper onto a roof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stapler made easy work out of re-covering chair cushions. I finished the job quickly, however, it did require using both hands to press down in order to get the staples to fully seat into the wood.
Pros: Crafting, General Repairs, Upholstery

Works fine, but did jam up a couple of times

Needed this for a warranty upholstery job at work. It works fine and has enough power to drive into starboard, but it did jam up a couple of times. It was easy to clear. Also, confusingly it's 1-2 staples too short to accommodate a full length of Arrow staples from the pack. I miss a better indication of exactly where the staples will be fired from for precision work. An arrow or line on each side would be helpful.
Pros: Upholstery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is very easy to use. It is easy to load the staples, and pull the trigger. Directions were difficult to follow initially but upon second reading that was no longer true. I would recommend without reservation.
Pros: Upholstery
