only worked for one set of staples

I purchased this item to do some upholstery on chairs. I put the first strip of staples in it and it worked like a charm. The second set only set one staple. After that I had to open it every time to set one more staple. I tried several different strips of staples, but always the same result,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It worked well for hanging vinyl j-channel. I would recommend 3/8" staples for that though...not 1/2".
