Poor battery life- wouldn’t recommend

I received this product last week. Initially I was excited because of all the raving reviews. Well, after a week of using it, I hate it. It takes forever to charge and the battery dies pretty quickly. 10-15 mins. I live in a 2000 square feet home, so it’s pretty annoying being able to only vacuum a 1/3 of my house at a time. I would be understanding if it charged faster but like previously mentioned, it does not. Also, an additional battery would be nice so I could switch them out to let the other charge while still being able to vacuum my floor. I would rate suction 7/10. I just expected more at this price point. Strongly considering returning. My MIL is in the market for a vacuum and I told her not to get this one. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review on the Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with the runtime of the unit and how long it takes for the battery to fully charge. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve our products.

Nothing is perfect.

I love everything about this vacuum EXCEPT the battery life. To advertise it as “up to 60 min run time” with the disclaimer that it must be in eco mode and using the hand held feature is simply criminal. For one, no one is going to vacuum their entire house in handheld mode. Two, we don’t care what the maximum battery life is if requires sacrificing quality of performance to achieve. We want to know the battery life at full go, vacuuming normally, which gauges real life use. It’s disheartening at less than 15 minutes, which definitely wouldn’t get a whole house done, and in a lot of homes probably not even an entire level. This could be a deal breaker, which is tragic because Shark nailed so many other amazing features with this vacuum. Why is such an important component so severely lacking?

The best vacuum!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum cleaner is a MAJOR upgrade for me! I hadn’t gotten a new vacuum in almost a decade so this was like going from a horse and buggy to a Lambo. The best feature is the auto detect feature if you have different surface types like me. The eco feature works great for longer jobs and the turbo boost for the heavy duty stuff.
The self empty into a removable container is amazing. 10/10 for me on this one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is by far the best vacuum that I have ever owned! It is cordless, it is lightweight, super easy to use, it has an airfreshner that keeps your house smelling fresh, it has smart-technology that shuts the vacuum off if your about to vacuum up something that you shouldn't & it auto-emptys itself! My 8year old absolutely LOVES vacuuming now and showing off our cool new vacuum to EVERYONE! I highly recommend this vacuum! It is by far my favorite household appliance!

Any homemaker will want this for Christmas!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have received the Shark® Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty system for testing in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. Self cleaning!?!? WOW!! I LOVEEEEE to vacuum now!. It's so satisfying to put the unit back on the home base (after an effortless use of vacuuming I might add) and hear the sweet little tune, then WHOOSH! No more messy canister to empty! Which is great for my allergies. I have tried this machine on everything! Carpets, bare floors, even the mattresses have gotten a proper cleaning! And it's truly amazing what has gotten sucked up! It is so lightweight then I have kicked my heavy vacuums out to the curb! I wouldn't even have been mad if I got one of these for Christmas.

Took me a while to pull the trigger on this one because almost all of the good reviews were from people who received it for free. Easy set up and then I vacuumed with my old cordless and then immediately used the Detect Pro. Couldn’t get over how much more it picked up. The dust cup is small, but with having allergies, I just put it back on the auto-empty and am good to go. No exposure to dust until you have to empty the auto-empty tank and not after each time the cup fills up. I’ve only had this for about 2 weeks, but so far so good.
I would recommend this to a friend!
