I needed this to increase the wifi signal to distant parts of the house. After connecting the Nighthawk, signal strength had increased significantly.

After years with a Netgear R7000, my network was in need of an update. I got a good deal on the RAX50 and after setting it up, have not had a single issue with it. Not only are the up/down speeds better, the range is much better as well. One suggestion for those with many devices, assign each device a fixed IP. Between home automation, cameras, kids school computers, tablets, phones, laptops, rokus, and smart displays, I have over 40 WIFI and four wired devices. With such a high number of devices, issues can occur after a router reboot when using static (router assigned) IPs.
