Range and consistency

After having multiple routers over the years from netgear competitors, I finally came across this Nighthawk. The competitors had either no range, issues with stability, or both. From experience.. 2ghz is normally the farther range signal, but this router is the ONLY one that had 5ghz reaching the opposite end of my home. Lowest ping and farthest consistent signal, a big W from me.

I bought this in late 2023. It worked great at first, but now it won't stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time, requiring repeated shutdown and restarts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WiFi Range Improvent but...

I purchased the RAX 50s because the WiFi range on my xfinity xFi gateway wasn’t cutting it for my 3 storey home. The RAX 50 WiFi coverage is an improvement and speeds are decent (after a few hours tinkering with the settings). However the Smart Connect feature doesn’t work well. When enabled it’s supposed to combine both 2.4 GHZ and 5G wireless into a single WiFi SSID. However when I enable it, many of my OIT devices and cameras that use 2.4 GHZ WiFi only do not work! I checked the forums and this seems to be a problem many users have been facing for quite some time. Netgear, at this router’s high price point and reputation, buyers shouldn’t be having this type of problem. Please fix this issue and I’ll update to 5 stars. Thank you
