I’ve been using it for a little over five months and then recently I tried connecting a second Ethernet cable, and ever since then it’s Been constantly resetting. I can’t get more than two minutes of Internet connection. I tried removing the ethernet and manually resetting but nothing seems to work.
So far so good. My only issue is that I tried to plug my Xbox series X directly into this modem but I can't get the Xbox to access the internet this way. :( I thought it should simply be plug and play.
My new Nighthawk Modem has been working perfectly. No problems using any devices and as of this moment I am very pleased with my purchase and it's performance.
Being tired of constantly unplugging and plugging back in my old equipment I switched over to everything NETGEAR Nighthawk. The setup was extremely straight forward and my connectivity is blazing fast and best of all, no more resetting! 5 Stars across the board.
I replaced an older model netgear cable modem with this model. So far I have not noticed any difference. The reason I replaced it is that it was old and the broadband provider (Sparklight/CableOne) told me that the older model did not support the bandwidth that I am paying for. I can't tell any difference and my upload and download speeds are the same. I did have trouble installing the new netgear cable modem. I followed the instructions but they did not work. I called Sparklight/Cableone and they said the problem was with the cable modem so I needed to call Netgear. I called Netgear and they said the problem was with Sparklight/Cableone. While I was on hold waiting for NetGear customer service to do something - I can't remember what - the cable modem started working. NetGear said the cable company was slow in updating the modem. Evidently the cable company must send signals to the new cable modem and that did not happen in a timely manner. So each company blamed the other and I don't know what was wrong but finally the thing started working. Since the old one worked, and the new one seems the same, I'm not so sure I should have upgraded. Just getting the two companies to answer the phone is difficult – I waited on hold quite a bit and had to answer too many questions and even fill out a warranty form. I could have saved my money and skipped the frustration of installing the new one.
Nothing but trouble. Techs installed it originally and it worked well for about 8 months. Then we had nothing but trouble. Multiple tech visits but it wouldn't stay on line for Netgear tech support. First time I've been disappointed in Netgear after years of using modems, routers, and switches. Disappointed
