Well, the old one was working just fine and now so is the new one. Being on a fixed income I'm not a fan of forced upgrades that aren't in my budget but that's not Netgear's fault. Just a sign of the times.
First off, setting up any Netgear product is such a pain!! After having to call the internet service to get the modem installed, then having to connect my computer to it to register it. Netgear kept telling me my router wasn’t recognized and had to use the Orbi app. That’s not true.
Finally got the modem registered after an hour of going back and forth within the website. Only to find it’s a basic modem. There are better and faster modems for cheaper.
I was appreciative that Netgear sent me an email letting me know it was time to update my router with a link to ensure I was getting the correct one that worked with Xfinity. Setup was easy and it’s working fine. Internet connection is good. No issues so far.
