I love the bed. I am still figuring out the lumbar, raising head and foot of mattress but I am sleeping with much less coughing. I love the mattress. Would like some information about how/why the lumbar option is good to use in the Ergo base. The mattress is awesome by itself. My friend who wen shopping with me is planning to buy her own tempur-proAdapt medium Hybrid.
Just started sleeping on this new purchase. I slept well the first night and all nights thereafter. I didn't need to get used to it. I'm a side sleeper, I'm over 60 and have had bad shoulder pain and intermittent low back pain sleeping on conventional innerspring mattresses. One of my doctors suggested trying a foam mattress. I was sceptical. The salesman at the retailer had a very good fund of knowledge and experience and I tried several mattresses and picked this one as the most comfortable. This mattress has eliminated my shoulder and back pain. Completely. Yeah, I know how that sounds, but I don't write reviews with anything but the truth in them. I would never have imagined I would experience this much improvement in my pain level, but I have, and I'm recommending this mattress to anyone out there who's experiencing my symptoms. I feel very thankful to Tempurpedic for giving me the best sleep of my life! This mattress conforms to body contours but provides total spinal support. I'm a warm body guy, band I experience zero heat issues with this mattress. This is a queen, and I need to replace a King mattress, and I'll need to see if I can get this model mattress in a king that is two pieces in case one side needs a different firmness. The only possible down side to this type of mattress is it does weigh more than an innerspring mattress. But I'm fine with that issue because the mattress provides the support and sound sleep I need. I may have a different view of this were a King or California King, but I'll let you all know when I get that size.
The buying experience in the flagship store was wonderful, but the delivery company NVC Logistics were rude, disrespect my time, unprofessional, and all together not of a caliber I would expect of Tempurpedic. I guess some guy in accounting figured they could save 32 cents a delivery by choosing them, but I will never buy from a Flagship store again for this reason alone. Also, now that I've broken it in, I am having low back pain. I have large hips and the matress causes a pressure point in the hips when I sleep on my side. It's as if it adapts up to a certain point, then turns to stone.
We ordered our split king pro-adapt medium hybrid mattress and adjustable base from a local distributor of tempurpedic products. The delayed delivery was over 4 weeks. We were told to expect the delivery the following week, however the wait time was over 4 weeks. We were never informed of the delay. and we did not get any communication from anyone about the delay. This delay and lack of communication was very disappointing . The mattress was set by our delivery person and that process was fine. He showed us how to use the remotes and explained the adjustable base to us. The biggest problem was the smell from the bed. After approximately 3 days my husband stated waking up with a head ache and dizziness. The longer he was out of bed the better his headache became. I did not have this problem, however the smell is very strong and irritating. We have been airing the bed daily and trying to tolerate the smell. We have been sleeping on the bed about 2 weeks. The mattress definitely feels much different than a traditional mattress. When I get into bed, I feel like I am sinking into the mattress and it seems to be hard to roll over during the night. My husband does not complain about this issue. Overall, the mattress is ok. For the price that we paid, I was expecting to fall in love with the bed, but I did not. My husband seems satisfied and states he is sleeping better. So for us, I don't think we would purchases this product again. We are still within the 90 day return window and have not decided if we will return. We also considered a sleep number bed.
Don't be scared at first - it truly does take several weeks to break in, but now, I just climb into bed, sink in, and have the best sleep of my life! I do sleep slightly hot, so I recommend using silky sheets ans a thin duvet!
We have had the ProAdapt Soft mattress for almost 1 month (January-February) and we are still getting used to it. Initially the mattress was hard as a rock. We put an electric blanket on top and increased the thermostat to 72 degrees to help "break it in" and it took 3.5 weeks but it is now "somewhat soft". It appears to get much warmer throughout the night when compared to the memory foam we previously had.
