I AM SO IN LOVE WITH MY MATTRESS!! For starters I originally purchased the Tempur-ProAdapt Medium. I had this mattress for about 37 days and realized the medium was too firm for my liking. I woke up stiff and pressure points in pain. Because I was within my 90 days of purchase, I traded it out for the Tempur-ProAdapt SOFT. I would have to say this was the BEST trade/swap I have made in my entire life. The soft for ME is much better than the Medium. I haven't had the soft quite a full month yet, so it is still in the process of adjusting but still I can tell the soft model is perfect for me. I don't wake up tight, stiff or pressure points hurting. Before, I swapped out the medium for a soft I did visit a local Tempur-Pedic store and the guy in the store suggested that I walk on the mattress to help it settle some and that's what I did when I got my new Tempur-ProAdapt SOFT. I will walk on it about every other night to help it out and as the days go by its adjusting more and more. It's super soft but still provides that Tempur-Pedic support that I was afraid I would miss with the soft version. I still sink into the mattress but have that luxury of support that a Tempur-Pedic offers. The price is well worth the better sleep quality and full body investment. I really love and appreciate being able to zip the cover off and throw it in the washing machine at any time.
When I bought this mattress, the showroom model felt comfortable. The salesperson convinced me this was the mattress I needed for severe aches/pains/arthritis after years of gymnastics. Advised me it would take 6-8 weeks to "break in." I can tell you the first month resulted in cortisone shots in my aching hips. We are one year in, and the mattress is no softer than day one, resulting in worsening chronic hip and back pain. I spent $4k on the mattress, and hundreds in massage, injections, and other remedies. Additionally- I'm having night sweats. I'm an OB/GYN provider and can assure you it's not hormone related, but simply the lack of air flow within the mattress. Someone can have this mattress for free out by my garbage cans. One year in- and still so disappointed. Buyer beware!
After spending a lot of $ over the last several years trying 3 different other brand high-end mattresses I finally decided to try the tempurpedic pro-adapt soft at the suggestion of the manager at my local store. The first night I slept on the pro Adapt I slept 7 hours straight and couldn't believe it when I woke up because I hadn't had such a good night's sleep in years! Definitely take the time to try out the mattresses in store to determine which firmness feels best. It's definitely a different feel than a traditional spring mattress that most people are used to but they are extremely supportive and comfortable. You won't be disappointed!
Initially the bed was extremely hard and felt like you were laying on a rock. We have had it for about a month and a week and it's finally feeling better.
I love my tempur pedic bed. Its taking me a little bit to get use to after sleeping on a sleep number for 20 yrs. I dont wake up tired like I use to and it has really helped with my arthritis. I dont hurt like I did. I love the cooling it has on it .
I've had my new ProAdapt Medium for a little less than 3 weeks and have been pleased. I went back and forth between the Medium and Medium-Hybrid and settled on the Medium. I may evaluate the Hybrid before my 90-day trial period is up but expect to stick with what I have. I was experiencing lower back pain and it's completely gone since I received my new mattress. I'm a combination back and side-sleeper and find both positions comfortable. This is a premium priced product but it's worth it based on my experience to date.
