Shading is perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband is a talented artist, but it has been years since he has picked up a pencil. He started using these a few days ago and they shade great. The design for unwrapping them is neat, but at times it is frustrating if it doesn't peel of right. Overall, these are fantastic with thick charcoal and endless possibilities!

Excellent quality charcoal pencils!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Ticonderoga charcoal pencils are excellent! They have a deep rich marking that is even/consistent. Very easy to handle and made a big difference in the quality of my sketches. They don't seem to wear down very fast either, which is a big plus. I would recommend to everyone looking for a great quality product that makes artwork that much more enjoyable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've resisted calls to swap my tried and true tools for more trendy, modern solutions. This style of charcoal pencil has been a staple in my kit for years and I am pleased to say that this set from Prang is the best I can recall. The quality is exceptionally high and smooth. I've yet to encounter a errant hard piece that tears at paper and don't think I will. They are dense and that provides for a rich black with staying power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never used paper wrapped charcoal pencils like these before and was a bit apprehensive about the process, but the paper unwraps easily if you pull the little string, revealing more charcoal. How have I never seen these before? This is SO much better and less messy than holding charcoal sticks where you get stuff all over your hands. It really makes drawing with charcoal FUN. I love using these. They are also comfortable to hold, good for shading, and the charcoal is smooth and deep black. I'm still a beginner but I'd definitely recommend these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really great. I haven't worked with charcoal in a long time, but this re-energized me to start again. They're smooth and predictable. Really like the feel and diameter as well. Just a nice, solid pencil that I'd definitely come back to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I guess I was expecting more from these pencils but my main issue is they were scratchy . I had to keep going over areas again because the pencils seem to skip long strokes. These should usually be smooth.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These soft Prang charcoal pencils have a much darker and richer black color than any other charcoal pencils I've tried! The ease of the paper wrap as opposed to the kind you have to sharpen is amazing!! These pencils are good for any stage of artistry - beginners through to experienced artists! Some brands seem to have a hard, stiff feel to the charcoal, however I was presently surprised with these.
