Ultimate potential. So far lackluster real results

As of yet I have been unable to enable or even recognize the optical audio s/pdif port. This functions perfectly with my previous system and audio peripherals. This board seems to be completely incompatible with software called HP ZCentral Remote Boost which I am required to use to work remotely, and it causes windows to not boot up at all after posting and loading the bios, whereas my gigabyte motherboard has never had this issue. There are several different individual drivers needed to activate sound, or Ethernet when the board is installed instead of all just working out of the box. Despite advertisements of compatibility with iCue software, it is spotty at best so far. The easy optimization crashes my machine, though I am using every single component from a compatible list of components on the ASUS webiste, and my 14900 kf processor should be the ultimate in overclocking capability. There is more, but this is enough for now.

We do understand your disappointment with the motherboard and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are having issues. If all your hardware are working properly and compatible with this motherboard, please ensure Windows was installed fresh from scratch using this motherboard to avoid any software or driver conflict. Software or driver conflict can cause the SPDIF feature of the motherboard not to work properly. Furthermore, your system crashing when you launch or run the HP ZCentral Remote Boost application is possibly related to a software conflict. If Windows was not installed clean using this motherboard, we recommend to do so to resolve the issues you are experiencing.

I'd love to give this a 5, but I can't bring myself to do so just because I like Asus. I do hope if you are reading this that you have a better experience with your MOBO than I did. Now, I do understand and fully expect to have some "growing pains" more or less anytime there is new hardware architectures being rolled out. However, I do wish that was the cause of the issues I've had with this board. I've had a number of Asus motherboards over the near 20 years I've been building my own systems, while upgrading nearly every new gen CPU when released. In all that time, I've never experienced a capacitor going bad, or really anything else going bad on a board before. I'm not sure what the reason was for it, but I can tell you that it caused some havoc, now that wasn't the only issue either. I've been running an Intel i9-13900KS delided, with direct die liquid graphene, which typically won't go but 10-15c beyond ambient at full load. Although temps are getting the green check from me, stability seems to only be checking out. I've dealt with it not posting, to BSOD's, to Black screen, to infinite recovery loop. I had an issue where after windows updated upon restarting, I would get a black screen, where my only option to resolve it, was to delete the update via advanced startup menu. This is my second board, and I had hoped that perhaps the new revision model would be less finicky, and more pew pew. Unfortunately, I was as dissatisfied a girl losing her V-card. All in all, it hasn't been too horrible, it's afforded me the chance to, err rather time to... Well, I'm sure there's a silver lining to be seen somewhere. Meh...
