Most frustrating install ever.

What should have been a simple mobo/cpu upgrade became a multi-day odyssey. I initially purchased the ROG Strix Z690 gaming WIFI D4, to pair with my new i9-139000k processor. I checked memory speed compatibility as I had in the past and everything looked good. It failed to post. None of the 3 sets of DDR4 RAM I had functioned with it. So, I spent more money on this board, and had to purchase DDR5 RAM. The board initially didn't recognize any of my SDDs or M2 drives. I spent hours only to discover that RAID is no longer called RAID on these boards but VMD (Hint: This isn't covered explicitly in the manual. You must scan a QR code found on the page just before the appendix in the manual). Before you can even get started, you're going to have to download the drivers for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and the LAN drivers (also not mentioned in the mobo manual) so, you'd better have a USB stick handy. To add icing to it all, it only comes with 4 sata ports, no install CD and terrible install instructions. ASUS, I ask you, please do better. I've always recommended your products in the past but given my recent experience I'm going to have difficulty doing so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm not an overclocker so this is probably over kill for my build. So far the MOBO is doing as advertised. Bought this for my new ASUS build with i9-13900k. I really like the design and the heatsinks included for future upgrades to PCIE5 nvmes. The RGB lighting puts a nice touch to it all. The BIOS is very easy to use, and a click away to set XMP settings for my DDR5 ram. I did need to update the BIOS FW,but booted on initial set up with the i9. There is room to overclock, but I haven't had the need to beyond the OC minimum of my GPU and CPU using the armoury crate and GPU tweak III. Beyond those OC settings I just don't know enough on how much this MOBO can handle.

Been an AUSU fan for many years doing home built computers to support my flight simulator hobby. This MB is part of my latest build to support Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 in VR, the board works great with Gen 13 i 9-13900K. Only issue I am having is with Q-Codes after boot; initially codes range from 25-33, after running Flt Sim 20 minutes the codes range from 35-46. Haven't been able to find code description book or online. Completely disassemble computer, checked & rebuilt & updated BIOs with same result. AUSU authorized return but would rather resolve myself if can. If one did not look at codes, the computer runs top notch with no issues; win 11 64, Flt Sim 2020. Happy with excellent performance!
