After a month of using the Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Max, I’m impressed with its performance. It’s a powerful unit with some standout features, but there are also a few things I wish were different.
Performance – Impressive Air Cleaning Power
One of the biggest reasons I chose this purifier was its ability to clean up to 1,400 sq. ft. of air per hour—and it delivers. The built-in odor neutralizer is also a great touch, helping to keep the air fresh.

What really stood out to me was how well it handled smoke from my wood-burning fireplace. The moment it detected the smoke, it kicked into high gear and cleared the air without hesitation. That level of responsiveness gives me confidence that it’s effectively maintaining indoor air quality.

Usability – Auto Mode Needs Some Tweaks
While the purifier works well, I noticed a small issue with the Auto Mode. When the fan is off, it takes a lot of dirty air buildup before the unit starts up again. This means that instead of maintaining consistently clean air, the purifier waits until the air quality worsens significantly before reacting. A more proactive approach in Auto Mode would be a great improvement.

Design – Functional but Bulky
This is where my biggest complaint comes in. My wife jokingly says it looks like a modern-day propane tank, and honestly, I see it! While it has a futuristic look, it’s a bit bulky and doesn’t blend seamlessly into our home. I personally would have preferred a sleeker, more slender design that complements modern interiors better.

Overall, the Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Max is an amazing air purifier. It has great performance, efficiently cleans large spaces, and works exceptionally well at removing smoke and odors.

If Shark develops a sleeker, thinner, and more refined version of this product in the future, I would definitely be interested in checking it out.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I love the Shark brand, and this purifier is a strong contender for anyone looking for high-powered air purification without the hassle of constant filter replacements.
Would I recommend it? Yes—especially if you prioritize performance and cost savings over aesthetics.

A very good unit that cleans the air in a large size room. It has the auto feature which adjusts the fan to the cleanliness of the room atmosphere. The deodorizer takes care of room smell with a great scent. The best one I ever had.
