Hoping the second one lasts longer.

Second one of these. The first one lasted 18 months then wouldn’t stay connected once someone rang the bell. Only purchased it again since the rest of my system is also Lorex. This time I bought the four year replacement warranty so it might work out.

Didn't work

Would not allow me to select mechanical chime, so it would not chime my door bell. So, the only person that could hear the door bell was who ever had the app. And, it only allows 1 user at a time.

Pretty much as advertised; really like local video storage

When I say "pretty much", it's because my iPhone (as primary user) gets all the expected notifications displayed on the home screen but my wife's iPhone (secondary user) does not. Tried everything. Called Support. They tried a number of solutions. No go. She can see events on her phone after the fact but it would be really nice if the notifications were also displayed on her home screen like on mine. Otherwise, video is quite clear and app is generally easy to use.

Replaced old Night owl doorbell cam, which they quit making. Easy setup, every thing was the same. Options to turn off notifications are great, when working in yard, or just don't want to be bothered.

Does the Job!

In the two weeks I’ve had this device it is meeting my expectations. Picture quality/sound is good. The app allows changing many settings on the device so you change sensitivity levels etc. Installation was easy as I already had a mechanical bell and connect was straight forward.
The only frustration is the lag between the alert and the app opening to see the live feed or the event. Access too quickly and it’s still writing to the SD card and fails to open. My Lorex wireless/battery cameras suffer with the same problem.
Overall I am happy with the Lorex products and enjoy not having to pay a subscription.

Purchased this one to replace the same one that was 2 1/2 years old because when you pressed the button the doorbell would shut off and you couldn’t use it until it was power cycled. I hope this one lasts longer since I also use it connected to my Lorex NVR which is convenient.
