The Lorex home doorbell and

The Lorex home doorbell and camera is a comparable alternative to the more expensive competitors we were considering previously. It wasn't too much to install, the instructions were clear, and it performs as expected. Here are some easy to read pros and cons:

- I get a notification for EVERYTHING even a walker by my house or a loose cat. I had to turn my regular notifications off
- I can't retrieve previous videos from other days (which is a main reason I got it) -- Maybe this is something I can get help with
- The doorbell will ring until I click the notification button (which is difficult when I don't have my phone near me)
Update: I found that I need to purchase an SD card separately if I want to be able to store footage, so remember that if you decide to purchase. Otherwise, this is a great option for home surveillance and monitoring. I plan to purchase more!

So when I got this

So when I got this I followed all instructions for setting it up. It has a beautiful crystal clear picture during the day. I noticed that when I turned on the HDR it didn't look as good. Then at night it looked even worse very grainy & picture seemed to be pulsating. Not a good picture at all. Plus I couldn't get the chime kit to work with my electronic door chime it just chirped. So I bought a new transformer & installed it hoping this would maybe be the problem...nope it made it even worse the chime kept going off with nobody ringing the doorbell. I registered this under warranty & have been trying to get a replacement sent but the process is not easy & they don't seem to want to replace it. So good luck getting them to replace or even repair anything I keep getting denied & have only had the camera for 2 months. Very disappointed with how the handle warranties & returns. Probably won't buy anymore products from this company.

This is a big improvement

This is a big improvement from my old doorbell camera and integrates well with Blue Iris (NVR). The picture quality is great, the features are top in the industry (5Ghz wifi, smart integration with Alexa, motion deterrence/night light, prerecorded messages + custom messages, etc.). The installation accessories provided are top in the industry as well. The ONE drawback is there is no web interface for configuration and the Lorex Home app is missing many config options. Lorex Home app does NOT allow you to modify the overlay or rotate the installed direction. I had to install the doorbell sideways to get better head to feet view in front of the door and now the date/time and Lorex logo are sideways. I want to remove the overlay so I can get a clean video feed and use my NVR to manage the overlays if I want them.
Would be 5 stars if you could add more features to the Lorex Home app or just give us access to a web interface for configuration like almost every other IP security camera.

With so many doorbell cameras

With so many doorbell cameras out there is hard to choose one that fits your needs and for the right price. This Lorex video doorbell actually check ? a lot of boxes compared to other major brands and at a lower price point. Me coming from a ring pro I am really impressed with the video quality. I'll go as far to say the video quality looks better than the ring pro even the night vision quality. The installation was a freeze. What took me a minute was the setup using the app. In the package you get all the necessary accessories to complete the installation.
Besides the good video quality this doorbell camera has a lot of other features including HDR recording. In the settings you can adjust motion zones including a zone section for people. You can adjust the video quality, change the button light color, adjust the path lighting, pre-record messages, and even activate a siren. Another plus feature is the ability to record on local storage meaning you don't need to pay for monthly cloud services. The camera has an SD card slot that can support up to 256GB, included in the package you get a 32GB SD card.
The speaker for the 2 way talk on this video doorbell is pretty good too. It is loud and sounds better than my previous doorbell. Another thing I like is when someone rings the bell you receive a notification, your phone will ring and it will show like a phone call where you can either accept or reject or send a pre-recorded message. On top of those other features I mentioned this also works with either Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. I have multiple Google nest screens and I love how it works with it. I just wished that when someone rings the bell it shows on the screen automatically like it does with the native google doorbell.
Overall this a great video doorbell with a lot of features, great video quality, sound and at a reasonable price point and let�s not forget no monthly fees for cloud storage. In the box you get the video doorbell, 32GB SDcard, mounting base, mounting wedges, chime kit, mounting kit and wiring, and manuals in multiple languages.

This Doorbell is great. Its a HUGE Improvement from the 1080P Version. I have been waiting for this doorbell since last year. LOREX truly have put in the work to get it right. Seems like they listened to their customers.

This kit INCLUDES wedges for angled mounting
The doorbell install is definitely easier that the other model, there seems to be a bit more room for wires etc, no special screwdriver required. Literally took 5 minutes to get up and running.
Simple things like including the QR sticker in the box so you don't have to unmount the doorbell to get to it
It integrated easily with Fusion NVR
Improvements to the motion detection
Add other users easily
The light is a cool add
In general a tremendous improvement.

The Lorex 2K Wired QHD

The Lorex 2K Wired QHD Video Doorbell With Person detection arrived in a nicely designed box that made a statement about the qulity of what was inside. The video doorbell was very nice indeed - great to look at and a compliment to our house!
Having installed a video doorbell on our previous house, I pretty much knew there would be some work involved to make it fit in the space the old doorbell would leave behind. The old space was quite a bit bigger than the Lorex would need. So I built a backplate that would cover up the excess space out of plastic electrical plate covers so it would look nice.
Once the hole cover was done, it was time to disconnect the old doorbell and connect the new Lorex. Once the wiring ws reconnected and the lorex installed, I was disappointed that the Lorex was not lighting up and doing its thing. Pushing the doorbell button produced nothing. The old doorbell was an AIPhone brand with three intercom-ring stations inside and outside the house. The AIPhone was powered by two electrical wires, just as the Lorex required.
I disconnected the Lorex and reconnected the old doorbell which imedicately lit up and rang. So it wasn't a lack of power. I decided to leave the old doorbell in place for now hoping I would later find a solution.
My overall impression of the Lorex video doorbell is quite favorable compared to my prior experience with a competetive product. The Lorex is nicely designed, well-built, should be easy to install and last for many years.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great video doorbell.

I used to have a ring doorbell pro and I thought it was the best thing out there till I saw this Lorex doorbell. This is the best thing out there. Quality is so clear and worth the money. And it has a lot more features and the ring pro doorbell. Also there is no annual fee to have this up and running not like the ring pro that I had to pay yearly. This doorbell is worth it.
