easiest of all my cameras to add

I have a total of 5 cameras on this system up and running on the Lorex Smart Home Security Center . It is "basically " straight forward to get them running..... but not easy. you need to have passwords for each and identifying "names' of each. It is best to have all this info in a note on your phone so you can copy and paste it later in all the needed locations rather than figure out each one in real time

I had bought the 2 pack camera doorbells. Installed both, after 2 days the one quits. Had 18vac to the terminal screws. But it wouldn't power up. Contacted lorex and they rush us a replacement camera. I would advise anyone to by the warranty package.
Got the new camera, back up and running again.

the doorbell works as desired. to share the doorbell alerts seems to be a little more complicated than the instructions imply. Otherwise, the installation and performance is great (one week into the installation).

This is our first video doorbell and we are happy with it and the ways you can customize notifications, settings, etc. I recommend this product to anyone who doesn’t want to use a cloud subscription service.

Door bell chime

Initially I was excited for my new camera doorbell. I had it professionally installed by an electrician. The existing mechanical doorbell chime did not work. The chime kit was then installed. The chime sounded like it was underwater and huming. I bought a new mechanical chime since the transformer had already been replaced. Same sound. So i went back to the store and bought a electronic chime and it works great. Granted it has only been one day but i press it every time i walk out just to be sure. Lol.. I hope this helps someone. Fyi. I bought the Hampton Bay wireless or wired doorbell. Model # 1001 407 776. I am using it wired no batteries

We are happy with are doorbell. Easy to install. I just wonder why the doorbell is warm on outside. Seems like there should be a way to turn off ringer on the doorbell itself. Don't need a ringer on outside!

Overall, I like this video doorbell. At least once I found the "pause alerts" function, which, to be honest, is pretty obvious.
Installation was a bit difficult, but this is more a result of the 2in between my exterior brick and the inset door frame. However, this is one of the reasons I purchased this unit, as it is one of the narrower ones.
I do wish there the existing doorbell wiring would connect to the mount somehow, as I had to angle the Lorex Doorbell into the brick to get the wires attached, and I think I might have scratched the lens a little, but the picture still looks pretty good!
The range in daylight is great! The "detection" zones work well too, and I was able to stop getting it to detect vehicles driving by easily.
However, at night, because of the brick and the inset frame, the IR bounces off of it and washes out the picture in low light. We live in a rural area, so there isn't enough ambient light at night to illuminate anything. Turning the porch light on and the IR off helps it see about 15-20 ft in the dark.
So, overall, my wonky older house and location notwithstanding, its a great video doorbell!
