This door bell is the best for people detection and videos. No more car notices just great video in 2k very clear and the color night vision is the best.

Doesn't work well with mesh router

I got this doorbell after owning the prior lower resolution model. I bought Lorex because I have a Lorex NVR system and the doorbell will connect to it. The picture quality and HDR are a considerable improvement. The problem is that I have a Netgear mesh WIFI system. The doorbell sets up just fine and connects to WIFI and the NVR, but then the problems start. It continuously disconnects then reconnects to WIFI on a 5 minute schedule. Because its disconnected for 2 minutes out of every 5, it's pretty much useless. So far as I can tell, it's hopping from one mesh satellite to another, sometimes connecting at 5ghz and other times at 2.4ghz. Every time is hope, it takes around 2 minutes to reconnect. I finally got it to work consistently by setting up a wireless access point and connected to that, so the doorbell could not hop from receiver to receiver. This is poor design or testing on Lorex's part. Mesh WIFI systems are ubiquitous and should be tested with the doorbell hardware before it's declared market ready. Perhaps Lorex can send a firmware update to keep the doorbell from switching access points once it's online. In the meantime, if you have a mesh WIFI system best of luck using with this doorbell. If anyone else has experienced this and found a working solution, please email me.

Video doorbell

The doorbell recognizes that someone is at our door and notifies me through the app. I like the local storage rather than paying subscription fees. Our internet is slow and doesn’t support the video playback. The video doorbell replaced a manual doorbell that kept sticking. We have a functioning doorbell. But the inside chimes from the previous doorbell do not ring. Having a good source of documentation for troubleshooting would help.

Great Doorbell Camera

I was having problems with the install, went online to troubleshooting and found out my 50 year old transformer has degraded to only 11.5 volts camera requires 16 volts. Just by the color of the Doorbell lighting
I knew to check the voltage. The extra USB plug was a plus, as I used it to verify the doorbell worked and had a great picture.

I've had Lorex cameras for approx 6 yrs now & even though ive been very happy with them, the lorex door bell blows it away. Great product & it works, looks great. It does notify right away if there's motion, I wish the cameras were as fast! Im completely happy with this product & i've only had it approx 2wks now.
