They work some for me but not very well.

The Audien Atom X makes people appear to talk louder. This helps me hear more of what people are saying, without noticeable distortion. As far as hearing more clearly, its an open question. I've worn the aids over a month now. I'm tending to think they won't help in the way I was hoping they would. In group situation with multiple conversations or speakers, they haven't been very effective. Marwan, the Audien specialist I met with yesterday, suggested playing with various modes the aids can be tuned for, such as comfort or tv. I will do that and see if I can get the Atom X to come through crisper. My main problem is when I'm in a gathering where people talk and I'm listening but not directly part of the conversation, there are gaps in what I can hear, with or without the aids in. As for Marwan, I would give him 5 stars.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
