Not a great experience

I think their quality is not sufficient.
The use of hearing aids is generally presented (in Audien ads) as being a life-changing experience. I tried the Audien Atom X and didn't feel like they made much of a difference. This might be due to the fact that I didn't really need much if any hearing support. After 3 days of adaptation (to hearing myself), I felt like they weren’t doing much for me.
Had the Atom X performed well as a Bluetooth device, I probably would want to keep them to have the hearing-aid capability as an extra. But I didn't find them to be good performers. I had the following quality issues:

1. Sound quality for streaming is really pretty abysmal. High frequencies seem over-amplified, low frequencies under-amplified. In other words, when playing music, they sound “tinny”. I expect better for something that is 3x the cost of decent quality noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds.
2. Low-level anomalous sounds when linked to phone, hissing etc., even w Bluetooth off.
3. When exercising, significant and repeated drop-outs, primarily with left unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
