Things I'd wish I'd known before purchase

So I'm not a fan. Bought them and will be returning them. The motion sensitivity is finicky and I can't find a sweet spot. I have a bee that keeps triggering my backyard camera no matter what I do. The night vision clarity is poor past 6 feet from the camera. Can't see if something is a raccoon or a cat. Humans past 8 feet at night are just blobs. Lastly, no laptop application of any kind or website etc. So unless you have your phone with you or a working tv with a fire stick then you are out of luck. Lastly, if you are used to a wired cam, just remember these are blink for a reason. They are on just as long as the see something to record while armed. While watching for my kids to get home on my fire stick, the camera lasts a few minutes and then closes completely needing a restart. Sorry, but I don't know the exact one minute time frame of people coming home so I can set it to turn on. Yes motion works, but not on a tv scenario. So yeah, going back they are.

Lacking basic feature

1) There is no built-in slot to insert micro sd card for storage. One need to attach usb drive. 2)Recording stop when USB drive is full. So one need to delete recordings once the drive is full.. this is basic requirement and it is expected to overwrite once space is full. I have wyze camera as well and they overwrite. 3) You can not view footage directly on app without uploading them to blink server. 4) it does not store full footage. It store only motion. Wyze store entire footage in SD card and you can view it through app right away. I am starting return of this camera .

Pay subscription sneaking up.

Bought a few of these cameras when there were no subscription fees. Now they are coming on. Will have to replace all of them with a system that stores locally. Spend money elsewhere unless you like paying monthly fees.

Beware of new subscription

Great camera system but they sold me on no subscription but as of last year they snuck in a subscription fee. I have bought this system for everyone in my family as a gift and recommended to countless friends only to find out blink has a subscription service. Great job on offering no subscription fees and then changing the policy for new purchases without advertising the change. Very disappointing.

Doesn’t not have continuous live view have to keep pressing continue for up to 5 machines minutes then you have to do it again
Waste of money, there are better camera’s out there that will do continuous monitoring

Can't live view when recording + more

These cameras are very annoying to have. I have two near my garage and two at my front door for different angles , and if someone comes and knocks on my door, I can't even see who it is in live view cause half the time it doesn't even record it and the other half " camera is busy" ( recording ) ! So you need to wait until it's done recording it's 1 minute video and processing it Before you can even see whose at your door. + You Grey Out areas you don't want and lower the settings , but gusss what, it still records those areas anyway no matter how much you mess with the settings to not record them and waste your battery life + you have a million 60 second clips instead of just one continuous recording you can scroll through. So in between these 60 second clips you miss 10 seconds of recording while it re-records. Potentially missing something important if needed + the batteries die every 1-2 months , making it expensive to replace them since you need lithium $30 a package of 9 ) and 2 per camera. I have 5 cameras so that gets very expensive.
Overall , hard wired cameras are 100x better for your home for use and long term. These are only good if you need a quick pop up camera while away for the day or some other reasons.
I regret buying these.

3 year review

3 years since I put up the Blink system. The good....still using original batteries, connection to hub\wifi great (one on a the tree 15' from house), decent video\image quality. The bad....notifications of activity useless (random to non existent) since day one, not consistent when 2 cameras catch activity that both will be recorded, recording will stop when motion stops but fails to restart when motion occurs again (picked up by second camera, meaning they would have passed the first camera a second time), notification of activation and deactivation of "schedule arm\disarm" random at best.
