Blink does does honour hardware warranty

One of my XT2's did not last a year. Blink would not replace the camera because a part was missing –– which is exactly why I needed the camera replaced! They are outdoor cameras, but will not withstand the conditions in Toronto: animals, rain, etc.. Hopefully, they removed that part in this redesign, but beware - Blink does not honour its warranty.

Batteries are lithium and they’re $20 pack. You will need replace them 3,4 times per year if you use your system 24/7. Garbage!

The camera’s worked fine for a year and after that they barely connect to internet, the helpline at Blink says now the Blink system doesn’t seem to be compatible with my network where as every other device at my place works perfectly fine. The app glitches all the time which doesn’t seem to be an internet issue. Easier for these companies to put it on the Internet service provider.
This is a sub-standard quality product not worth the price. Better save your money and spend a little more on another product.

Pretty Disappointing

The box makes these great claims that the batteries last 2 years. Well that's only if you put them in an area where there is no movement whatsoever. Put one up in view of my front door, it's been there for about a month, batteries are dead. Also the lens tends to fog up easily which makes it pretty difficult to make out any details if you ever needed to. When it's not fogged up the picture is actually quite clear. That's why i will at least give them 2 stars. Will be returning them.

Liked: Bought Blink 3-pak Outdoor Camera with Syn 2 Module for Black Friday special of $199.99 and special bonus offer on mini indoor for $15 off - it was on special and with the $15 off only paid $10 for it. Great value! Free shipping and it got delivered in 2 days.
Liked: Early detection feature works well such that video starts recording before object enters into screen view.

Disliked: IR quality is poor at best setting such that resolution can't distinguish any details good enough for police evidence. Motion sensors seem to triggered and work best on detecting movement on lower half of photo screen. I tried turning camera upside down to improve motion detection at farther distance though there is no feature to flip display on the Outdoor cameras (there is this feature on the mini indoor camera). Can't pause playback midstream of video or zoom.
Still Blink system is a pretty good system, for detection and text notification of activity on property though video quality could be better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not made for surveillance and Canadian Winter

I bought this a few months ago. If you are used to the normal CCTV cameras and are looking into these as a replacement of wired cameras. DON'T. the sync module has to be close the cameras for it to work. I have one on my front door and one on my deck in the backyard and can't get a good signal on both of them at the same time. It only picks up the camera to which the control module is closer to. I also tried a wifi extender as suggested by Blink support team, that did not help either And if you are looking to see live feed, on a good day with good connectivity to sync module and great wifi connection, you are looking at a good 30 sec to just connect to the cameras. If i want to see them from my echo show devices it times out multiple times. so is situation even when i try to view it from the the blink app. And once it started to get colder here in Toronto, the performance have worsened.
In short, I would not recommend these as outdoor cameras at all. And if you are looking for indoor cameras there are lot of other better options available.

This system does not work well in really cold Ontario winters. There is a delay in the system which is not helpful. Batteries need to be changed too often.

I bought 3 of those in november 2020, after my brother-in-law living across the street got his truck stolen. I needed something quick and easy to install. Within one hour, all 3 where installed and functional. No need for a subscription. Everything is recorded on my phone and I chose to delete the videos past 7 days. I live in QC, at the time of writing it's -20 outside, and they are still functional. I need to change the battery in one of my cam because I use it a lot and have the settings set to high, so it's understandable. The only drawbacks I can see is the fact that since it's not wired, there is no ongoing monitoring and there's a delay between the "action" and the reaction. something I have time to park my car and get out, only then I get the movement notification, but other times i'll get a notification of someone walking on the street. Image quality is great for HD. Would love to see this system wired with continuous monitoring ;)
