No good for security

Blink requires you to setup an account. When I bought the XT2 I only needed to login with my ID and password, then Blink decided they also needed my phone number to text me a code which had to be entered in order to see my camera. And It appears they keep track of the cameras because in email correspondence they told me what the camera was looking at. So I Would Not recommend any Blink camera to anyone

Great.....IF YOU DON't use them

If this camera is in a place where you don't have any traffic. Great. They are easy to setup . no wiring nice. If they are in a spot where you capture movement or anything really, the battery dies like crazy. We have not been able to get 2 weeks out of these yet. Whats the point in having a security camera, if to maintain battery life, you don't record anything. Pretty disappointed. With these.

I have 4 cameras in use, they all work 100%. Have had it operational for a year now.
they offer do many ways to set up just using your cell phone and my clips are stored on a USB drive plugged into the module,
it will even let you know when battery is low.
one of my best purchases from Best Buy.
i bought another 3 camer system as a Christmas gift

Cameras useless - Forced into new subscription
on November 2, 2022

These cameras were great at the beginning - live video recording, cloud storage (optional usb backup), hourly photo captures, and motion detection, etc. Everything you could want in a security camera. Now? Not so much. After over a year, I’m being forced into a subscription based plan. If you don’t opt in to their subscription, the cameras are essentially useless, only capturing photos which defeats the purchase of a security system.
I bought this system on the fact that it was not subscription based and never was I informed at the point of purchase (nor was it indicated anywhere in the packaging) that there would be a lm additional fee to use this system. I never would have bought these had known I would be forced to pay an extra $200/year just to access the features that should be included with this system.
Never will I recommend this product or any of amazons smart home systems.

How about a real review!

We have had the Blink minis for just over a year and honestly we could have chosen anything and it would have been better. Not sure where these other review came from but I wouldn’t advise buying Blink. In a nut shell it’s a headache from the get go. Installing is easy sure but we have the best internet package you can get. Everything we use works pretty much flawlessly except Blink. You have to put the sync module somewhere the router can find it. And the cameras have to be somewhere the module can find them. So if we put the sync module in the living room it will connect to cameras outside the nearest window. If we try to put a camera on the side of the house or in the back it won’t show up. The only way we have got all 3 to work is if the module has a straight line to a window and the camera is just outside the window. Literally pointless when we can’t put them where we want them. Yet I can take a tablet out to the back of our yard sit and still get internet. It had features when we first installed them like deleting multiple videos because they rack up fast. All of a sudden that option has disappeared! Apparently you need a subscription to use the functions one would want. The batteries didn’t last long and yes we have ot set to all the lowest settings to save the life of the battery. We even charged them and it still says replace battery even after a complete reset. Make no mistake! If you are looking for a system of multiple cameras this isn’t the one you want. Maybe just for a doorbell video camera but it also tends to be delayed, but not for actual security. If the internet goes down so do the cameras. And they tend to not catch everything. We had our car broken into and surprise surprise the cameras did not record or detect anything. Thankfully we still had one of our old cameras still in place and working. The only reason it gets a single star is because it is easy to set up and the video quality is good if you use the best setting but that depletes the battery and storage faster. Definitely not worth the money even on sale.

Fast, easy wifi connections and all work perfectly

Purchased the new outdoor three camera with echo view 5 kit, all work perfectly. If only people would read instructions and not write reviews solely on their lack of doing so.
1/ Battery life depends on camera turning on, if you have it set so it is on all the time yes, poor battery life. Set it to only activate when it detects motion and set how long it records and the reset time between activation and reset. Battery could last the two years advertised ?
2/ Cloud storage only has a free 1 month subscription, just read, the information is all there. If you bought the echo view 5, by installing a 64 GB drive in its usb port you have tons of storage for video clips that can be viewed, deleted or saved at will. You can even email them to someone if you wish. All for free
3/ Live view can be done remotely using the app on your phone and more than one person can view, edit settings and arm / disarm the system and talk to someone at the door.
4/ Sensitivity settings and ignore areas of the camera view allow the system to be customized to stop activation / recording when not needed.
5/ The system sends an alert to your phones if enabled when motion is detected and camera is activated. great feature for our new inground pool, added peace of mind. One camera pointed solely on that area. We now know a racoon frequents our pool and spa late at night.
6/ Cameras are small and are easily tucked away or mounted in shadowed areas to be barely noticeable
Our neighbor has them and a ring doorbell, she uses the ring as a decoy knowing the hidden blink is taping when activated "for free". I did not get a discount or was asked to review for any future discounts, just needed to say some facts that other negative reviews conveniently forgot to mention. If your looking for a camera for security, or simply to know what is happening when not around give this a try. For the price and what we get, worth it,

Need to pay monthly subscription fee

Before the updated Blink, there is no subscription fee to store your video and photo clips. The free local storage indicated on the box is only for backing up the video and photo clips from the cloud which you have to pay!!!!
I'm returning it!!!!!!!

Battery died within 2 days

Installed it day before yesterday. The camera went offline today most probably due to dead batteries as per the notification I see in the app. So the batteries lasted around 2 days with the minimalistic configuration possible. I turned off the motion detection on the first day, sensitivity level set to 2, all other settings such as IR etc. set to low.
I guess that I am done with your cameras. Would be returning them back today.
