I thought it might have been a bit stronger than it has turned out to be. After moving intro an apartment in retirement facility, I felt that my stand mixer was very heavy (no space to leave it on the counter as I did previously) but this does not have quite the power I hoped for.I

Okay, but a little disappointing.

Okay, but not nearly the speed of my old Oster. It might take a very long time to whip cream. I bought the five speed, but expected that the top speed would still match the top speed of the other models, just less options in-between. However, the new stand mixer I also bought has a disappointingly slow top speed also, less than the 40 yr old one I still have. If I still had the box I would have returned/exchanged this hand-held mixer, but I do like the softer beaters.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
