Exploring home coffee at a higher level.

It has taken approximately three weeks (slow learner) to reach a level that I would call akin to our local professionally operated establishment. Experimentation is certainly the name of the game.

We chose to go with a semi auto machine, so we could customise the end product it produced. Finally getting some good results, which has everything to do with technique.

Great home coffee machine

The built-in grinder is exceptionally quiet, and the espresso it produces is excellent. My only wish is for a more robust portafilter, ideally one without any plastic components.

Great stylish machine, just a few flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this coffee machine. It’s a high-quality brand, easy to use, and the black textured finish is a refreshing change from the standard stainless steel—it looks great on the counter.
There were a couple of small hiccups when setting it up. The initial priming with water and the grind start button didn’t work at first even though I followed the instructions, but after a few tries, it kicked in and hasn’t acted up since.
My only real complaint is the steam wand placement—it’s too close to the back of the machine, which makes steaming milk a bit awkward. Swapping it with the hot water spout would offer better flexibility. It's also quieter than my old machine, though not as quiet as I hoped.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great machine, but water tank leaks

The machine is very nice & the coffee is good, but the water tank leaks. According to other online reviews, this is somewhat common. Sadly ontemplating the logistics of returning a 10kg machine to Myer via Aus Post, I came across Kendrick's review, where he fixed the leak himself. And reader, so did I! Based on his review, I purchased a whole bunch of O rings (after I found out what they were haha), and slotted one about a centimetre wide around the water tank valve. Hurrah! Fixed. I am not a handy person by any means, so there is hope for others with leaky tanks. Though obvs it is sub-optimal for a machine at this price point to have this issue, and it does not seem to be an isolated situation. It's a very nice machine otherwise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
