My favorite ear buds

I have always known that Bose has a superior sound quality which all of their competitors try to beat, unsuccessfully, but I’ve never been in a position to have my own pair of Bose earbuds. I am thrilled at the opportunity to sample these and hear the sound quality for myself. My favorite feature is aware mode. I now feel completely safe going out late at night to walk my dog. I typically have a hard time with ear buds, as I can't keep them in my ears without them falling, especially if I bend my head forward, but that is not a problem with these. Once they are inserted in your ears, all that is necessary is to rotate the buds to adjust to your inner ear. There is even a function that allows you to test the quality of the noise cancelation function by reverberating sound in your ears so the ear buds adjust to the contours of your ears. There is also a function that, if you update to current software, the ear buds adjust to optimal performance by adjusting to your listening patterns. The technology in these ear buds are way beyond anything I have experienced before.

I reluctantly bought these Earbuds because I don't usually spend much on them normally.
I'm so happy that I did! They sound awesome, the noise canceling mode is incredible and the "aware" mode works very well.

Not a seamless experience

5 star audio quality, 2 stars for ease of use. I had very high hopes for these earbuds, sadly I was let down quite a bit. The sound quality is superb with these earbuds and the noise cancellation is excellent with the max setting for the ANC making these some of the best noice cancelling earbuds I have tried. If you are only looking for a pair of earbuds for when you travel then these might be for you. Now on to the negatives. On day one of pairing these earbuds (regardless of first time pairing or after resetting and re-pairing them) everything worked perfectly however, the following day and any day after that I had issues getting the earbuds to connect automatically if I didn’t first open the Bose app. The earbuds did not connect independently of each other, meaning if I took the right earbuds out of the case first and I decided I only wanted to have the left one in, I would have to put both earbuds back in the case then pull the left earbuds out first (this was only when I could get the left earbuds to connect independently, which was hardly ever after day 1) and vice versa. If I did not open the app before trying to connect, the earbuds would connect to the phone BUT audio would continue to play over the phone speaker and I would not be able to get the earbuds to function properly. This leads me to the next point which is resetting the earbuds. They do not come with a “manual” so instructions for resetting would have to be accessed online. Although the app does a good job directing you to the support link when you are having issues you would have to be able to navigate the menu and someone who is not tech savvy will most likely not know the difference between audio issues and connection issues (especially when phone settings show the earbuds connected, it’s only in the app that you see them connecting and disconnecting). All in all I cannot recommend these when using my guidelines for earbuds as I look for something that I can carry around and just insert into my ear when I want/need to and have a seamless experience.

We'd also recommend making sure you're not connecting to the LE connection of the earbuds, the app uses this low energy connection to detect and communicate with the earbuds.

Had less than week.. stopped working

I bought the Bose earbuds II. For the first few days they were ok. Had trouble keeping connected to Bluetooth on my iPhone. That was annoying then the left EraBud stopped working altogether and I have not had them even 3 weeks! Had to send in for replacement have to wait and wait for my new set to arrive. NOT HAPPY. When they worked I lived them is why I gave 2 stars

Gen 2 offers more streamlined size and look

I'm a big fan of Bose audio products; in particular their ANR headphones and earbuds. I own the QC45 and 700 over the ear headphones and they are excellent in terms of comfort, sound quality, and of course, noise cancelling capability. I purchased the Gen1 QC Earbuds last year and was skeptical that they could offer noise cancelling that could compare with the over the ear full size headphones and to my surprise they do! When I saw that a Gen2 QC Earbud was coming out I pre-ordered a set right away.
These new buds are much sleeker design, while they fit OK and provide multiple pieces to customize them to your ear I think the Gen1 buds feel like they fit better to me. The sound quality is excellent; I'm no audiophile but using the app equalizer to tweak things a bit they make music or a podcast come in nice and clear.
I've read a lot of professional reviews that claim that the ANR is better than the Gen1 buds but to be honest I'm not sure I can tell a lot of difference, both are incredibly good. With any of these buds you MUST make sure the fit is snug or you will not get the full noise cancelling benefit. With these Gen2 Bose buds after using the medium tips that it came with I found that I had to move up to the large size and it made a huge difference in ANR results. My Gen1 Bose QC buds worked great with the medium tips. I had the same issue with another brand's buds too.

On the bud controls are essentially the same as the earlier model and just as intuitive and convenient. Also, Bluetooth connectivity to my Pixel 6 phone was fast and easy.
Battery life is decent at around 6 hours and having two additional charges in the case makes these a perfect travel companion. Speaking of the case, compared to the clunky Gen1 case this new case is smaller and more compact and looks to be made from higher quality plastic compared to the kind of cheesy originals. I also prefer the new magnetic closer, the old case had a manual push button and was at times hard to open.
Overall, the new Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds are an excellent choice for someone looking for a high end listening experience and state of the art noise cancelling.

Much better than expected

I use these mainly at the gym. The 1st time, both buds fit well and stayed in place. I used them as they arrived, with the medium sets. The 2nd time, I kept losing the right bud. Couldn't get it to stay in place. Came home and switched the right one to the large. Fit fine ever since. I'm in my mid 70's and can't figure out how to use their features. I can't forward to the next song on SXM. Sometimes, I can pause, but for the most part I can't. Being old school, I would have liked some written instructions. If BOSE could provide instructions I would appreciate it.

Top Notch Earbuds!

Absolutely love these earbuds! The noise cancelling is beyond amazing. I use these at work while sitting at my cubicle and I literally can not hear a single other person or thing going on around me! As far as size goes, I have larger ears and finding buds to fit them seems to be more difficult than I thought it would be, but these absolutely fit and feel perfect with the adjustable wings and tips. The comfort is top notch as I feel no need to take them out from discomfort or pain while using them for longer sessions. Bose has always been known for their sound quality and these live up to that expectation. The app makes it super simple to adjust the equalizer and modes which allowed me to find the perfect balance for a crisp, clear sound. The case is perfect size to fit in my pocket and the battery on them is great. I definitely recommend to everyone whether it be casual users or audiophiles. Great job Bose!
