[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mowed twice now with this mower and it does a really nice job. My reason for only three stars is it gets no where near the advertised 5.1 acres per charge. I have just under 3.8 acres to mow and I can get about 60% of that on a single charge assuming I use the lowest power level on both the blades and the drive. I do however have a rolling yard with a lot of up and down grade driving so I'm assuming that's part of the reason for less area per charge. I also have several bushes and trees and various obstacles to mow around which probably also lowers the acreage per charge. I would suspect if you have a flat 5 acres that only required back and forth mowing you would get closer to advertised mowing area. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the mower so far. The batteries charge to full charge in 2.5-3 hrs and the lights work great for after dark mowing to escape the summer heat. The only other thing you might offer would be tractor tires as an option rather than turf tires. On rolling ground, the mower does a lot of tire spinning and sliding.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello JDC2071. Thank you for sharing your experience. The maximum runtime often applies to a flat, open yard. Slopes and obstacles require more power, and users can expect running time to be less, if this is the case. Runtime measurements are also related to the condition of the grass and if it is well-maintained. Tall, thick grass requires more power, and you must mow it slower, consuming added runtime. Here are a few tips to ensure the max runtime is achieved. Ensure you charge the battery fully before each use, maintain the battery properly by cleaning terminals, avoid extreme temperatures during storage, consider buying a second battery for larger lawns, mow in a straight line, and choose a mower with a powerful battery suitable for your lawn size. If the grass has been left to exceed 4 inches, we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than one-third of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another one-third, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and runtime improve. We hope others will find your review helpful. Just know outside of the warranty period if it breaks they are not fixing it and they are not offering parts. It is junk, and they use internal plastic drive parts so these tools break under normal use...

Hello BwReviews. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience with us. It is unfortunate that this process has made you lose confidence in us. We, at Greenworks like any other brand, have a warranty procedure we must adhere to for warranty claims and their timelines. Greenworks 80V platform is backed by a 4-year tool limited & 4-year battery warranty which is more than double industry standard. This means you have got a little protection on your investment. It also makes a statement on how much Greenworks stands behind their products. The Greenworks website offers a dedicated section for parts and accessories, including those for 80V mowers. You can browse by product category or search for specific parts using the model number or SKU. Tips for Finding the Right Part: 1. Know your model number: Locate your lawn mowers' model number, which is usually found on the product itself or the packaging. 2. Find the SKU or ERP number: The SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) number can also be helpful in finding the correct replacement part. 3. Check compatibility: When purchasing parts online, always double-check the compatibility information to ensure the part works with your specific Greenworks 80V lawn mower model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned this mower for 4 years and I live in NC. This is not a mower designed for workhorse lawn cutting. It is able to cut dry grass well. It is not able to cut thick summer grass well, and it certainly can’t cut anything that’s wet. I don’t bag my grass because it’s too much work but this limits me to mulching because there is no side discharge. The mower becomes clogged very often. When grass is thick here in NC in the summer months I inevitably have to flip the mower over and scrape out the grass clippings a dozen or so times in one hour of work. There, you have been warned.

Hello gordonm. We are sorry to learn about the problem you are encountering with your mower. Here are some tips to prevent clogging. Mow when grass is dry: Avoid mowing when grass is wet or has dew on it. Sharpen your blades regularly: Aim to sharpen your blades after every 20-25 hours of mowing. Follow the 1/3 rule: Never remove more than one-third of the grass blade at a time. Clean your mower deck: Scrape or wash the underside of the deck after each mow to remove grass buildup. Consider mulching: The mowers chop clippings into smaller pieces that are less likely to clump. Mow at a higher setting: Adjust the mowing height to reduce the amount of grass being cut at once. Double-cut the lawn: If your grass is very thick, you can mow at a higher setting and then cut again at a lower setting a few days later. By following these tips, you can significantly reduce the need to frequently clean the mower deck and enjoy a smoother mowing experience. We hope you will find this information useful. I have had an 80V 21" push mower for 7 years. I bought this mower to help with some steep slope cutting. It is basically worthless. If you try to use it to cut grass more than a couple inches tall or use it to mulch and bag leaves it stalls out. If you try to cut on a slope greater then 15 degrees it stalls out. I am back to using my 7 year old push mower.

Hello Terry55552. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the mower. User safety is the top priority, and it is strongly advised not to use the mower on inclines greater than 15 degrees. This is not a limitation of the unit itself but a safety precaution to ensure safe operation. For optimal performance and safety on steeper slopes, equipment designed for those conditions, such as brushcutters or string trimmers, is recommended. When grass is varied, sparse in one area and denser in another area, and is above the ideal height of 4" the mower may lay the grass over and this can result in uneven or uncut grass. Here are a few tips to ensure the best results: If the grass has been left to exceed 4", we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than 1/3 of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another 1/3, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and run time improve. Hope these tips help. Generally positive review except for the battery run time and lack of availability of spare 80V 16 Amp batteries. I posted a question about getting a spare battery but the answer was they are not availble on line or otherwise currently. I spoke to a superisor about getting one and am waiting for a reply. Some more details below.
Follow up to my original question about the batteries -- We recently purchased 2 of the 80V mowers, Models MZ548 and MZ608. We have 2 acres to mow using both mowers and can't quite finish on a single charge. This is much less than the advertised run time or number of acres they can mow. We get about 55 minutes on the MZ548 and about 70 minutes on the MZ608. This is about 30% less than the advertised run time.
I have called about getting 2 additional 80V 16A batteries ( Model LB80160). One spare / extra battery for each mower. I talked to one of the supervisors and hope to get an answer soon. It is disapointing to not be able to complete 2 acres with 2 mowers in one charge.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this mower for about 5 years now, and it’s still going strong. From the very beginning, it’s been reliable, easy to use, and surprisingly powerful for an electric mower. I really like how clean and even it cuts the grass—it’s made lawn care feel less like a chore and more like a quick, satisfying job.
The 80V brushless motor has held up better than I expected. It still has plenty of torque, and the battery life, while not what it was brand new, is more than enough for a regular-sized yard. I usually rotate between the two 2.0Ah batteries, and the rapid charger brings them back to full power pretty quickly.
