The product didn’t start and customer service was an absolute nightmare to deal with. I have the blower and weed trimmer as well, so I was/am committed to using greenworks products, but I would not advise someone else to do the same. Unfortunately very poor service and quality all around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 1 year plus ago and it works so well that i have now bought a 80v leaf blower and the string trimer. All work great and all use the same batteries. I now have two chargers and two batteries and all work great. One battery quit and I called green Works and they sent the replacement battery no charge. Great products and great service when needed.

What’s there to say about this? It lasts for the entire yard. I start by using my 80 volt string trimmer and then when I’m done with that, I take that battery from the trimmer and put it in the left side of the mower. It uses that battery first and then the second battery on the right (in my experience). The cut is better than ANY mower I’ve ever used. Even my grandfather who saw me mowing using this thing was impressed and he is apparently thinking of getting on for himself since his gas mower is nearly a decade old and he’s tired of all the maintenance. Speaking of maintenance, there really isn’t any on this machine, other than keeping it clean and sharpening the blade once in a while. I was also mowing later in the evening a few weeks back and I made a discovery that I don’t recall seeing on the page when I first purchased the mower: this thing has a headlight and does a decent job of lighting up just in front of the mower. This is the best mower I’ve ever had and I’ve become a customer for life!

very disappointed with this machine. what I did in 30 minutes with a gas mower takes me 2 days! with this machine, and its still not 100% done. I bought an extra battery and it is still very disappointing how weak the motor is. It shuts down and kills battery at the slightest hiccup

Hello turfted,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower. It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains.
Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.
1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Consider a second battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went with the most powerful. I'm glad I did. I only mow every other week. This baby shredded through weeds and grass without stalling. Battery died before completing little more than .25 acre. I like to mulch maybe we battery died. This is more powerful than my gas lawnmower that won't start. I need a second battery for my yard.

I purchased a Greenworks 80V Push Mower online with some hesitation. However, upon delivery of the mower I found it extremely simple to assemble - and I'm not mechanically inclined. Thus far, the mower has done a great job! It has plenty of power and the combined two batteries lasts approximately 1 hour. It is much quieter than the gas mower it replaced making mowing the yard a less challenging task.

Excellent mower with impressive power and durability

This is my first battery-powered lawn mower, and I'm truly amazed with how quiet and powerful it is. Before buying, I compared it with another popular brand. What sold me on this GreenWorks mower were (1) the steel deck, and (2) the brushless motor, which means durability and power. Our front lawn plus the sidewalk-to-curb strip is about 1,600 sqft total, and runs the battery down to about 50% to completely mow. I'm doubtful this could tackle a whole acre on a single charge, but it's more than enough for our needs, it cuts beautifully, and it's quieter than any gas-powered mower I've ever used. The only complaint I have about this mower is the handle assembly. There's a cord on one side of the upper (start) handle which you need to feed into the lower section of the handle, and it doesn't feel like there's enough room for it. They say to be very careful with that cord, but you basically have to force it in to get the handle to the point that the bolt holes line up. And then, you need to make sure the bolt doesn't damage the cord. I'd almost deduct a star for that, but everything else about this mower deserves high marks, so I'm sticking with the 5-star rating.

I'm really enjoying this lawnmower so far. With the batteries fully charged it almost cuts all of my quarter acre. Even if I let the lawn go to long and have to cut a significant portion using the turbo I just need one more charge, which my bad back doesn't mind
