The lawnmower is very nice. It is extremely quiet and does an excellent job cutting grass. The only thing that I wish was different is the collection bag. The collection bag is white, I would prefer that it was black.

I already own a greenworks chainsaw, blower, hedge trimmer, and weed eater. I decided this year it was time for the Push Mower. I mainly use a push mower for use on a steep bank that I am unable to use a riding mower on. My old gasser would usually stall out on the bank in some situation but not this Greenworks mower. I love this mower more then I anticipated. I use it many times in places I can get to with my riding mower. It’s that nice!

This mower is light-weight, very quiet, and efficient! I have over an acre of lawn and am able to mow nearly the entire area using the 2 batteries. The battery charging is quick as well. I've used the mower a few times now and am very happy with it's performance!

Great lawn mower! I like the fact that since it's electric it's instantly running. No cranking to try and get it going like a gas-powered mower. Plenty of torque to cut even tall/thick grass. I wish I had purchased one sooner. The batteries charge quickly and have plenty of run-time to get it done. A well designed mower.

Hello Karen in Spicewood,
We're sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with your current run time. It is important to recognize that the run time depends on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, operator technique, etc. - there are so many factors to consider. The harder the unit must work, the quicker the battery charge will drain. Similar to how the gas in a vehicle will deplete quicker when driving at higher speeds or carrying more weight.
Run times do vary based on grass conditions and operator techniques. For best results users should:
1) Mow when the grass is dry. 2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on the newly cut grass. 3) Alternate mowing patterns each time you mow. As grass develops a grain based on your cutting direction it will lean towards the direction of your mowing path. Changing the pattern allows better vertical growth and helps to keep the cut neater. 4) Consider mulching. To mulch, remove the bag and insert the mulch plug into the rear of the unit. This will leave the clippings on the lawn allowing the nutrients and nitrogen contained within them to return to the soil and allow the remaining grass to recycle them (always discharge the mulch towards a previously cut area to prevent your mower from bogging down). 5) Always keep in mind what conditions your variety of grass prefers. If your grass prefers cooler climates, reduce the frequency with which you mow and increase the cutting height of your mower during hot seasons to compensate for the reduced growth rate these varieties may experience in this type of weather. 6) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Best Mower that money can buy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m on my 4th season with my green works 21” 80v mower along with the 80v blower and extended hedge trimmer. I wouldn’t trade this system for anything. The mower is probably the closest electric push mower to a standard 5hp gas mower. It has plenty of power, cuts like a dream and starts right up with no issues every spring season. The quiet performance makes you feel comfortable cutting grass early in the morning without disturbing your family or neighbors from sleep and the best part of the battery mower is you don’t smell like gasoline after you cut your grass! I recommended this mower to both my father and coworker who absolutely love its performance. 5 stars

Greenwashed!

Have been using for a month and definitely feel I have been greenwashed. I can't mow for more than 20 mins without the battery dying (short grass too). The mower constantly puts itself into "turbo" mode which further drains the battery and even though I turn it off to go out of "turbo" mode and then back on, it goes back in another few seconds. Charging the battery takes at least 1.5 hours, but that's only after the battery has cooled since it's not, because I don't mow the lawn in the winter.... and then when it's done charging and I hit the charge indicator on the battery, it shows 4 lights and then immediately drops to 3 right out of the charger. I am all for paying a little more for a sustainable solution, but don't lie about your products abilities.

Hello greenwashed99. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the mower's protection features. The mower likely enters "turbo" mode automatically due to an overcurrent protection system that kicks in when the battery is being heavily stressed, possibly by thick grass or uneven terrain. This is a safety mechanism to prevent damage to the battery and motor. To address this, we recommend exploring a few troubleshooting steps to potentially improve your battery's performance. 1. Check Grass and Terrain. Make sure you are not mowing through excessively thick or long grass, or areas with a lot of debris. Try adjusting the cutting height or moving through areas in shorter passes if possible. 2. Self-Propelled Engagement. If you are using the self-propelled feature, try engaging it more gradually and with a lighter touch. Excessive strain on the self-propelled mechanism can also trigger the overcurrent protection. 3. Battery Condition. Ensure your batteries are fully charged and in good condition. Worn batteries may struggle to provide the necessary power, leading to more frequent activation of the overcurrent protection. Yes, the batteries will require time to cool before charging. The amount of time that the battery requires to cool will vary depending on how much they have heated up while in use. The outdoor temperature can affect battery run time. If the unit is used in extreme heat, this causes the battery to overheat and deplete. We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause. If you have tried these steps and the problem persists, we recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat with an Expert” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent I Monday - Friday: 9:30am – 5pm EST or by calling 1-888-909-6757 between 9AM and 7PM EST, M-F. So, our experts can discuss your experience; please have your unit, battery and charger with you along with the model and serial number to complete troubleshooting to ensure quick resolution is provided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The battery charge lasts to mow my 1/2 acre yard with charge left over. The mower cuts cleanly. No gas. No oil. No difficulty starting. I’m well pleased with this purchase.
