Hello Karen in Spicewood,
We're sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with your current run time. It is important to recognize that the run time depends on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, operator technique, etc. - there are so many factors to consider. The harder the unit must work, the quicker the battery charge will drain. Similar to how the gas in a vehicle will deplete quicker when driving at higher speeds or carrying more weight.
Run times do vary based on grass conditions and operator techniques. For best results users should:
1) Mow when the grass is dry. 2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on the newly cut grass. 3) Alternate mowing patterns each time you mow. As grass develops a grain based on your cutting direction it will lean towards the direction of your mowing path. Changing the pattern allows better vertical growth and helps to keep the cut neater. 4) Consider mulching. To mulch, remove the bag and insert the mulch plug into the rear of the unit. This will leave the clippings on the lawn allowing the nutrients and nitrogen contained within them to return to the soil and allow the remaining grass to recycle them (always discharge the mulch towards a previously cut area to prevent your mower from bogging down). 5) Always keep in mind what conditions your variety of grass prefers. If your grass prefers cooler climates, reduce the frequency with which you mow and increase the cutting height of your mower during hot seasons to compensate for the reduced growth rate these varieties may experience in this type of weather. 6) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Not Worth It

I’ve had this mower for almost three months now and I mow every other week. I only have .25 acres the first month I could mow the whole lawn with no issue, the second month I had to recharge one batteries to finish (three full batteries), and now I can’t even mow half of my yard with both batteries full. Not sure if I got faulty batteries but it’s ridiculous that it takes me 5 hours to mow my .25 acre lawn because I have to wait for batteries to charge.
Pros: Quiet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello SabsBurch,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the unit has not fully met your expectations. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life. Runtimes can vary depending on a few factors, including but not limited to if the self-propel feature is used throughout the entire cut, grass texture and consistency, cutting height, and lawn size. If you wish to address your concerns directly with one of our Product Experts, please contact us by chatbot through the customer contact page located on our website on www.greenworkstools.comor call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see whether your run time and battery life would be considered average.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously owned a corded, 120V electric Greenworks mower. It cut great, better than any gas mower i ever owned. I grew tired of dealing with the cord. I only considered Greenworks for a battery powered mower because my othe Greenworks mower was so great. Needless to sat this mower is awesome. Cuts great. I can do my entire yard with the 5ah battery. The power is not even an issue. 100% would recommend this mower.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quiet, cuts tall, wet grass effectively (but as the instructions note, the batteries work harder under these conditions). Batteries charge faster than I would have guessed.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Powerful
