[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the mower 5 years ago and have been using it weekly for about 7 months each year. One of the 2 batteries that came with it gave out, but the other is still working ,although runtime seems to be diminishing. But, the battery had a 2 year warranty so can't complain.
Not inexpensive, but I bought it because it was highly rated. I'm happy with my purchase. It cuts well and mulches leaves well. I love the benefits of electric vs. gasoline: quieter, no exhaust fumes, easy starting, and much easier maintenance. Very simple height adjustment, too. I like the vertical storage. Not sure why it needs a headlight. Also, apparently Greenworks has engineered a safety feature (?) that makes it more difficult to pull the mower back (towards yourself), e.g. at the end of a row. But my one suggestion for improvement would be to make the speed control more stable -- not so easily moved. I must be lightly bumping into it (and my belly isn't that big) and the control moves. should be easy to fix, no?
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this lawn mower in a combo pack with blower and string trimmer. This lawn mower with 80V battery cuts well and love the self-propelled feature. I use this feature since my front yard is not flat. Due to large size of my front and back yard, I have to take out and charge the battery once. This is not a big problem for me since it charges to full quick and i also do other yard work between charging. I have since bought Greenworks electric snow blower with 80V battery and now I have 2 batteries and can use the machines without having to charge or wait in between. I have since bought other Greenworks products and I am loving it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just added the outstanding 21" self-propelled mower to my stable of Greenworks 80V powered yard tools and I love it. My first 80V push mower was such a fantastic mower that I knew I had to have the self-propelled model so my wife could use it, and we both love it. I now have Greenworks 80V mowers, 80V blower, 40V hedge trimmer, and power washer. I love that I can interchange the 80V 2.0 and 4.0 AH batteries with many of my Greenworks tools. The tools are rugged and so dependable that I have now given my gas-powered gear away!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mower is much lighter than my previous gas mower. I like how the handle folds and takes up less floor space when stored upright. The mower starts easily with a push of a button while holding a lever...no more having to yank a cord to start up a gas mower! The self-propel feature is great though there is a slight delay when you activate it versus when the rear wheels actually start spinning. There is enough battery power to last mowing my front lawn and back yard so I'm happy about that. The battery level indicators are clear and the battery charges quickly. The charger's built in fan is a bit noisy, but at least it gets the job done quickly. My biggest complaint about the mower is that the rear wheels tend to lock up after you use the self propel feature. You need to give the mower a second or two then jiggle the mower left/right a bit before you can pull the mower backwards. If this lock up issue wasn't present, I'd easily give the mower a 5 star rating. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product despite the flaws I mentioned.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello PlutoE.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for choosing Greenworks for you lawn care needs! We always appreciate customer feedback. The self-propelled feature is not usable in reverse. They are designed to lock when pulled back to prevent damage to the drive belt. If you are using the self-propelled feature, the mower will attempt to move forward and will be difficult to move backwards. You would have to release the self-propelled lever to pull the mower backwards while still holding onto the start lever. I bought an earlier version of this mower five years ago, and it still runs like a Champ! This is some of the best money I have spent. I decided to move from gas powered tools to electric, and electric has been better. The only problem that I've encountered is getting new batteries that hold a charge. Even brand name batteries are prone to punk out after a few months or a few uses. With that said, I would buy another one of this mower any time. I truly have not had a single problem since it was bought. Yes. I recommend this company and mower to anyone who is tired of messing with gas-powered tools.
