[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in Nov, & used only 2times, and the beater chipped. was not impressed. I wash by hand, bcz don't have a dishwasher. did not ding items. so not impressed when asked how I stored etc. but the beater was replaced.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my old KitchenAid (1985) with a 5 quart Artisan Series. Big difference! More power, bigger bowl, and a handle on the bowl! Could not be happier...and...I got it in Black Violet matte.

I received the Artisan Series stand mixer as a gift from my husband. I immediately started looking online for all the attachments I could use with it. I never thought I would get to own one, but now that I do, I'm amazed at how much it simplifies my life! I'm super happy with it's performance and excited to buy first the pasta attachment, then the meat grinder attachment! Thank You KitchenAid!

Not my mothers mixer

Grew up using Kitchenaid stand mixer, it was the best, finally bought my own a year ago. Model KSM150PSSM. 1st had to SCOUR intensely using BarKeepers friend to remove the coating from the bowl that turned everything a nasty dark gray. The attachments don't scrape the bowl at all everything is stuck to sides and bottom not being mixed. Yearly x-mas cookies was the test. The slow speeds have no power so after adding some dry ingredients the motor is overloaded, if you turn it up all the flour flies out. 10 speeds is a joke, you have slow, medium and that's about it. Wound up mixing a lot by hand. Overall huge disappointment, cheap foreign construction and materials, doubt it will last very long. I'd take my mothers 60yr old mixer over this piece of cra-p any day.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
