Love Love Love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted a KitchenAid mixer but oddly never purchased one. It was mostly because I thought of it primarily as a great tool for baking and making desserts which I try not to eat so I always talked myself out of it. Now that I own one and have purchased some of the attachments I can't believe I waited so long. It does sooooo much more from prepping vegetables and cheeses to making easy work out of mashed potatoes not to mention helps me make the BEST homemade bread for my butter boards. (Hey I said no desserts but I love all food so I have to limit myself somewhere...)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Missing spring of post to attach beaters.

Paint chipped and lock latch doesn’t hold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although small, there is about a 2 mm chip in the paint on the neck of the mixer, quite visible. Most disappointing however, is that the locking latch does not hold when mixing any kind of bread, which was the primary purpose for which I bought the mixer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love Kitchenaid

At 40-plus years, my Kitchenaid mixer has finally shown some signs of giving it up. A couple of drops of red oil dripped over the bowl today. I raised two children with this mixer and cookies with four grandchildren, plus countless cakes and sweets for guests. It has been a good mixer. At 40-plus years, we are retiring it for a new model. If the new one lasts 40 years, one of my grandchildren will be making cakes and cookies with their children and grandchildren. The old one is a K45SS. I’m getting the Artisan model by mail order.
