We like FiLip 2

We bought this for our daughter since mommy was returning to work full time. We wanted a device that she could wear instead of carry around and lose! We found several devices similar to FiLip2 and after careful review this was our choice! Our daughter is 5 and absolutely loves it. Yes, the watch has to be charged every night but doesn't your I-phone/Ipad battery drain quickly if you are constantly playing games or on the internet? The one thing we wish they would upgrade is to have the option of turning off the ringer/texting during specific hours, but still allow the emergency button to work in case of an emergency. Overall, we are happy with it and highly recommend it!

Changing the Ping to 30 minutes and keeping calls short for emergency helps battery life. Refreshing or retrieving new locations helps. Yes it's quiet, but it's very simple to use & it works perfectly for emergencies. It could use updates to work out some kinks. Also a volume control and a longer battery life, however for the money, it's worth it to us.

I bought this Filip watch for my 7 yr old last Christmas. Within not even 2 months we were spending almost as much as the original cost to replace the cracked screen. He simply accidentally dropped the watch and the screen shattered, I saw it happen. I can't believe a product made for children is not made with more durable material. Jump ahead about 3 months after we FINALLY got the fixed watch back and it stopped working altogether. Now we had to wait another THREE months for a replacement. This time I put a screen protector on it. One month later it's shattered again. Save yourself the headache, this product will not hold up for kids.

My son had two. The firts one dropped accidentally from his hands only about two feet from floor and cracked easily. Still funtioning but cracked. After few weeks it stopped charging. The contact started failing and didnt make contact so wont charge anymore. It has insurance. Received the second one, new and lasted less thana month because of the same problem. Its not charging. The contact between charger and Filip is weak, not good and not made good contact. The kid always took good care of it and has caution but the quality of that charging part is a failure. Im not investing more in another one to see the same problems.

We have Filip 2 since last Xmas and my son love it. It worked pretty well but sometimes its hard to understand what the other person is saying. Also it happaned few times already that i got txt saying - my son left home and he was still at home and didnt even go anywhere when that occured. Last two days its schowed on the map that he didnt even come home but that my sonis at some location nearby. Also the battery doesnt last very long, and we call only about 2 min 3 times a day. While my son is of home

I just got one of this for my 9 year old. For GPS inaccuricies, check your map. On my IOS, the watch was next to me but Filip app showed wrong address. I checked the map app and it too showed the wrong address. Updated location and Filip is now more accurate. Battery life. Set ping update from 15 to 30 mins. And remind your child it’s for emergency. Talk at most a minute or two. Call quality. Teach your child to speak clearly. Even on regular phones, younger children are hard to understand if they don’t speak clearly. I’ll post more if you folks find this helpful.

I bought this watch for my 5 year old it broke 2x in the last 3 months we've had it. the first time he dropped it (well fell off his wrist) and it just cracked then the second was technical. out of the 3 months we've had it we've only been able to use it 3 weeks total the rest of the time was spent through shipping back and forth. its a cool great idea, but just not up to standards that would actually meet the needs of a 5/6 year old everyday active life. he does love it and takes good care of it, but the fact that he dropped it just once (it fell off his wrist actually) and it shattered was bad enough because I had to pay half of what it cost to replace it (yes I had insurance) and the second time was technical and lasted 1 week of receiving the new one before we had problems. WHEN it did it work it worked great and like I was hoping. just bummed that it didn't work more than it did.

I bought this Filip for my grandson several weeks ago and he loves it! His parents and I also are loving it. We can send messages to him (24 characters) to let him know who will meet his bus or if he should walk home (just a block), or even just to tell him Nana loves him. He can call us to say Hi, or if he needs something. It's also great to be able to locate him. We need to test out emergency mode (only thing we haven't done yet). I highly recommend it. And trust me, he thinks it is super cool! I bet I will be getting one for his little sister when she starts school.
