So far I have had no problems with my Artisan 835 All in One Printer from Epson. It prints beautiful pictures at lightening speed and the wireless broadband sync is a cinch. I think the paper tray is genius. You can do everything with this bad boy.

Print Quality with the Artisan 835

As a professional photographer, I was looking for an all-in-one printer (with scan & fax capabilities for my business) but also with high end print quality. I could not find any comments online addressing this. I went to two stores, neither of which were able to make a print on photographic paper. I bought the Epson Artisan 835 as I have always used Epson printers. Just this morning I easily set up all the functions of the unit and then made a 4x6 print from a photoshop document. The print quality is as good as my high-end Epson Photographic printer. I was extremely pleased. I then did a scan of the print to a memory card, saved as a pdf. The pdf looked great. You do need a usb cable (not provided) to scan directly to your computer which I do not have as I use firewire primarily. It would be terrific if there was also a 400 or 800 firewire connection available and I did not have to go out and buy yet another cable.

I started with the Artisan 800 and when this one came on sale I decided to grab one. If the 835 performs as well as the 800 does (I still have the 800) then it will turn out to be another excellent Epson product. Excellent photo printing.
My complaint is as most regardless of the brand name......cost of ink. If the price was more reasonable then life would be good.

After some difficulty installing, the printer exceeds requirements for photos and regular documents as well. The pull out panel screen is easy to use and guides you as you search for what you need.

Epson Artisan 835

I purchased this product as the features were impressive and my printer was old and problematic. I entered the set up CD into my computor and tried to activate the printer to work with my computor. After five times...it failed to set up....I called the seller and he suggested I download directly from Epson. I did, but only worked when wired to my computor. The wireless feature would not activate. I next thought maybe I would try to run the set up CD to again try to use this wireless and it again would not work and to make matters worse, it erased the wired feature. So I downloaded the wired feature again so at least I can use the printer!

Worthy successor to my RX-580

I bought this as a replacement for my dearly departed RX-580. Installation was a breeze and so far I like the functionality and the output. Other reviewers have commented on grayish looking black text. While I did see that on the test sheet, I printed out one of my invoice forms and the black text looked fine. The touchscreen is very easy to read and very responsive. Comments by others about the flimsy feel of the paper tray are valid and that is why I gave this printer a 4 instead of a 5. Otherwise, so far so good.

I have had this printer for about a month. I am delighted with its performance. Setup went well, and it works very well on a wireless network. The quality of the photographic prints is superb. So far the ink consumption has not been excessive, but I do not have enough experience to comment on the longer term. Text documents print quickly and the quality is excellent, in my opinion. The ability to scan and print legal-size paper is an important advantage. I am an ardent amateur photographer, and for that it suits me perfectly. The only problem I have run into is in setting up the scanner for Omnipage Pro 17, which requires you to load the document into the document feeder. You can’t put a book in the document feeder.
