I have had this Artisan 835 for less than a month and have used it in every way available except for printing on a CD and faxing. This unit has some really neat features but is not well made. The design is sleek and elegant and if it was a better quality I would rave about it. It is a fragile machine. The output tray is very fragile, the paper tray is not well designed and at the most inconvenient times will pull out two papers and print partially on both of them. If the paper in the tray is almost out of paper it will pull the last several papers into the printer at one time. The touch screen went blank and the unit did not respond and was nonfunctional so I had to unplug the unit and plug it back in for it to reset and after that it worked okay. Intstallation from the program disk did not work so I had to download the drivers from the Epson website. Network setup was a snap. I use this with both Windows and Mac.
That said, it prints beatiful color pictures quickly from either the computer or from the memory card readers and USB port. One reason we bought this unit was the card readers that fit our cameras. We have only used the 4x6 size paper so far. For printing on 8.5x11 regular paper, draft prints grey but normal printing is fine. I consider the draft setting to be totally useless as it is hard to read and therefore there is no inksaving feature. I have not been able to get the auto duplexer to work yet, which is another reason we bought it. It has a feature that parents of young children would like: it prints coloring book paper from photographs but it seems to use a lot of ink doing it. I like that the touch screen is large and is adjustable so that one can see and use it easily. Print speed is very good and print quality is excellent.
I have used Epson printers for many years and found them to be well made and workhorses, especially my old C88+. I am somewhat disappointed in the quality of this machine but after purchasing my first all-in-onein a different brand returning it plus it's replacement, both of which did not work very long, I am glad to be back with an Epson product.

Can anyone help!! I just bought this printer and tried to print on epson premium paper glossy. Print coming out smear and ink is overflow. Please advice. Thank You

So Far So Good!

So Far So Good. Wireless setup was a breeze! Up and printing in less than five minutes. Print quality is great and colors are vibrant. Researched printers for quite some time and this was the result. Couldn't be happier.

I am totally computer illiterate however, the set up as billed by the sales person was so easy. Even I could do it simple.
Have not use the product yet but do not see anything that would be a problem.

The installation was very simple on all of my computers, including my work computer. The best features of this all in one are the speed, the quality of prints, the footprint & the fact that it works compatibly with my pc & mac. This is my 1st Epson & I'm wondering why it took me so long to convert!

The printer so far produces great quality documents. I find that the paper tray is cumbersome, and I don't like not being able to see with my eyes how much paper remains in the tray before I go to print a job for myself. The tray and the paper receiver feel like they may break at any stress at all.

I have been an epson printer customer for years because it is the only printer I can find that lets me design what I print on printable DVDs and CDs. I have had problems with them a lot of paper jams. I just got the Epson Artisan 835 and I am getting a replacement because of auto 2-sided printing and I need to check why I can not import my pictures from my files in the software Epson Print CD which I have been using for years with windows xp but now I have windows 7 and I think there is a problem but I need to call on this matter. Great picture printing.

I have found this printer to be just as good as the other Epson Artisan printers I own. If you are using Windows 7 you will need to download the current drivers from Epson website, which I found very easy to do. If you need a GREAT photo printer than this should be the one you pickup. As a photographer my prints from the Artisan 835 printer are the best. Epson makes the best photo printers in my book, I am a HAPPY Customer.!!!!!!! Thanks Epson for making another GREAT Product!!!!!!!
