The day i purchased my Epson Artisan 835 i was ready to return it. The sales person asked me to try one more time. No luck, still not good. I wrote my original review and gave low marks. I was surprised to hear from the Customer Relations Dept.(Really, what company cares that much?). They put me in touch with there technical support and WALLAH!!!!!!!I wasn't using it properly!! I am amazed at the quality. With the Back Light correction i have printed some older photos that i was told could not be repoduced (they look much better than originals) ! I do alot of art work and photo repair and reproductions. This printer is amazing! Colors are beautiful. In some cases, better than originals! I could go on and on. Thank you Epson for your Technology and your awsome support system!

The best printer I've ever had!

I've been a fan of Epson printers going back to the 777i that is still in use today! The Artisan 835 is the best printer yet. Quality is superb and attractive. Being a 5 in 1 printer it has such flexibility and yet does everything extremely well.
Setup is a snap. In less than 30 minutes all drivers, software and WiFi settings for a PC and 3 laptops were complete. Auto updating of drivers etc is great. The lcd screen is bright, clear and has adjustable angles. Very easy to use for setup and printing, faxing etc.
Photo prints are bright, clear and true life color. The separate tray makes it a snap to change between print jobs. The software is great for touch up, cropping etc.
Scanning is easy with the wizard and is straight forward. Custom settings are easy to use and can be saved.
Fax setup is a breeze. Options are easy to setup on the lcd screen or by using installed software.
Copying is a snap via the screen or software. Both the flatbed and feeder tray are excellant. Copies are clear, accurate and print quickly.
Memory card and pict bridge are easy to use, print, transfer etc.
In closing, the bang for your buck is can't be beat! a definite must buy if you are in need of a multi function printer. I've wanted this printer for a while. Got a deal that I could not pass up. This printer will be with me for a long time. It joins the 777i, cx4600, r260, rx595 that are still in use today!

Very disappointed - will return

I had very high hopes with this printer. The setup was easy and the user interface is simple. The paper tray is flimsy but I really don't think this would be a big deal as long as you're careful. I haven't tried the copier or scanner, and I don't have a need for a fax.
After experimenting with printing, I have seen enough. I was hoping to use the printer partially for business and partially for photography and making greeting cards. The text printout is really bad. The text is not black, even with a very high quality business stationery. Granted, it's not Epson paper. My color business logo on a page of text is full of streaks no matter which settings I try. I was able to get it to look a little better on the photo setting, but that is way too much ink for business stationery and the paper wrinkled badly, as expected.
I switched to printing photos on 4x6 Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy. The first print, with a white border, is gorgeous. I never would have believed this could have come from a home printer. Then I tried printing two borderless 4x6 photos on the same paper. Both of them came out with terrible ink blotches at the edge of the paper. It smeared all over the place. I'm not going to put up with that, so I'm returning the printer.

First, it is a 4 in one printer (fax/copier/scanner/printer), but what sets this apart is the quality and ease of use. I was able to set up the wi fi quickly (just remember to have your SSID ready and you're set!) I LOVE the fact that there are individual ink cartridges so this saves money when one color is gone. And this printer has two extra colors for even better printing of photos. As for the printing, this printer prints very quickly. The touch screen is, in my opinion, one of the easiest to use. I can see my ink levels quickly, print, scan, at the touch of my finger. The papers are easy to load, and in my opinion, this is a good buy!

We're on our third Artisan 835, having had to send the first two back because the paper feeder stopped working, both times when I had been doing double-sided printing. We've had #3 for about a month and are keeping our fingers crossed.

I bought the 835 today and instlled it today. It was very simple although it takes a bit of time. I really like the printer already as it is very user friendly and prints beautifully - I have not printed any photos yet. It is a sleek and very efficient design and fits quite well into my limited desktop space. At this point, I hightly recommend this printer with special feature such as enlargment that work very well.

Best printer I have ever had!

I love my Epson Artisan 835 printer! I do photography and wanted a printer for my photos. This printer goes above and beyond my expectations. I couldn't ask for more. At a recent gathering for my grandson, who was moving out of the country, I was able to take pictures and print them out immediately so he could take them with him. I think the best part is the fact that the photos will last for future generations.
I do wish I could print photos larger than letter size, but I still love my printer.

Easy to install; works perfect from my iPad. I would recommend to to anyone who wants the option of wireless printing. I have not tried the fax functionality as yet.
