Excellent Tool and Excellent Replacement
on March 28, 2011

This unit was purchased to replace an Epson Artisan 800. Both units are currently working in our home office and we are extremely pleased with the quality, cost of operation and throughput of these two machines. I have already told various family members of their abilities and our pleasure with the machines. Cost of purchase was as good as I could have hoped, and our cost of continued operation is very, very well received.

Good printer - easy to operate

Was reasonably easy to setup on my wireless/wired network. Photo print results impressed my wife so the big hurdle for value was successful within 5 minutes! The automatic document feeder works very well so copying, scanning and faxing are easily accomplished without having to be a technician. I had hoped that I would be able to fax from any computer on my network but that does appear to be the case. Wireless printing is faster than I thought it would be. This is definitely an upgrade from my HP Deskjet that had major issues working with Windows 7.

Just Got

I just bought the Artisan 835. I've only had it a few days so my opinion and expeience with itare somewhat limited. I researched printers on the Web for about a week before decidin the 835 had all the fetures I wanted and was of the size I needed for it resting place. I have tried all most all of the listed abilities I need and are listed and it has exceeded my expectationhs. It is compact for its size and abilities. It's attractive in appearence.
The only dislike I've had is in loading the packaged install CD. It kept dumping me out of Windows when starting the install. After about 6 attempts, I finally got the software to load. The Quick start Guide should include better intructions on the software install than it does. It was not for me a quick and easy load CD and follow insrtuctions. It took about 2hrs, to get the nsoftware to load.

Epson Artisan 835 Ink Jet Printer

My first Epson printer was the R300 and it was a excellent product. Expanding on the R 300 technology is the Artisan 835. I have put the Artisan through every procedure that I need and its passed with flying colors (pardon the pun). The quality of color photographs is unsurpassed. The ease of setting up the printer is a job anyone can do. For me, the added feature of being able to print on printable CDs and DVDs is a bonus. This feature was the main reason for me to try the Epson R300 and the Artisan 835.
Added to the outstanding all-in-one capabilty, the Artisan 835 has autoduplexing or the ability to print on both side of paper. The improved paper tray that allows the loading of paper up to 8-1/2 X 14, envelopes and up to 5 X 7 photo paper is great.
I highly recommend the Artisan 830 series of printers.
